How big was the arc? The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
Just keep in mind how cubits was measured, and take in mind Noah was a gaint, making the arc allot bigger than you think....
How did all the animals know to get to the arc? Animals have an instinct that warns them before the time of danger, the world was about to be flooded, the animals knew that (insticnt), so they ran to safety (the arc).
How could all those animals fit? 2 of each animal, male and female, could have been baby animals, they have a better chance of survival, and after the flood they will live longer to reproduce, and not so much food was needed to feed them. Also, no insects, insects arent classified of being alive in the biblicle sense, and insects can survive any flood.
What about deseases on the arc? Pre-world flood was very diffirent to what we live in today, there was no deseases.

Does this make sense???

People think it'd be too much of a bottle neck to have such a variety of animals from the ones on the arc. What then would the chances be of all the animals coming from a rock? The chances of spontanious generation starting life does not exist. The chances of some animals getting on a boat. Very possible.

You make a lot of sense

"Just keep in mind how cubits was measured, and take in mind Noah was a gaint, making the arc allot bigger than you think...."
unsupported assumption.

"How did all the animals know to get to the arc? Animals have an instinct that warns them before the time of danger, the world was about to be flooded, the animals knew that (insticnt), so they ran to safety (the arc)."
Illogical, this does little to explain how a south American three toed sloth managed to get across the ocean to the middle east.
(sloths move at 0.15mph)

it also doesn't explain how they knew where the arc was, and ignores how animals sense coming danger.

"How could all those animals fit? 2 of each animal, male and female, could have been baby animals, they have a better chance of survival, and after the flood they will live longer to reproduce, and not so much food was needed to feed them."
1. my bible says 7 of each, contradiction?
2. baby animals have a hard (read: impossible) time surviving without care, the ark workers would have 3 times more work. further, without parental guidance they wouldn't know how to hunt. oh and "a male and his mate" implies sexual maturity.

"Also, no insects, insects arent classified of being alive in the biblicle sense, and insects can survive any flood."
Bullsh*t.

"What about deseases on the arc? Pre-world flood was very diffirent to what we live in today, there was no diseases."
another unsupported assertion.

"Does this make sense???"
not really, it also ignores the airtight geological data which says the flood never happened.

I totally agree with you, and am intregued that you think Noah was a giant. I also believe that, but I didn't think it was a very common belief. So it's true, the ark may easily have been twice as big as we expect, since cubits were measured by the length of one's arm.
I'm curious as to why you think Noah (and everyone else at the time, I assume) was a giant. I think it's true because of the extra layer of water that surrounded the earth, that is mentioned in the beginning of Genesis, that would have effectively doubled the pressure of the oxygen in the atmosphere.
And it is well known what happens to plants that are grown in high-pressure, high-oxygen conditions: they grow much, much larger and healthier than ones from a normal environment.
That water barrier would also explain how people lived for hundreds of years, instead of only decades like today. It is the sun's radiation that causes the quick aging and decaying of people and plants today, and when that barrier was up, it would have seriously lowered the dangerous radiation, allowing people and animals to live much, much longer.
Lastly, it's also that water barrier that was the flood!! God basically dropped the whole thing on the earth; that's what caused the 40 days of rain. And that's also why, immediately after the flood was over, God said that from now on man shall not live past 120 years (Genesis 6)! Crazy, huh!?

The world was indeed a very different place before the flood!!

Sorry, I got on a bit of a rant there. :)

Good question/post. More people need to know how something like the great flood was possible.

First, it's "ark" not "arc."

Second, it's an allegory. Every culture has a flood parable and that's the flood parable of the Judeo-Christian culture. Just like the Garden of Eden has been proven as allegorical and not historical, so is the flood tale.

I think most people who take the bible literally are going to have problems with what you are saying, ie, how is this possible. Maybe some would say not all of the world were flooded. I personally get past this by using the allegorical value of the story and that's how I deal.

Who says Noah was a giant?

What evidence supports your belief that animals would sense an imminent flood?

If the animals, sensing danger, fled to the arc they certainly aren't like any animals we know of today. What evidence supports your conclusion?

Where is it written that insects are not alive in a biblical sense?

What makes you think that insects can survive any flood?

What's the evidence that there was no disease before Noah's flood?

The answer your question is: No, my friend, I'm afraid your thesis makes very little sense. It's unsupportable fantasy

There are over 100 million species.

Are you so gullible to believe baby koala bears migrated to the middle east by swimming over the Australian strait, and then migrating over 6000 miles to get to the Arc?

I wonder how many Eucalyptus trees exist between Australia and the mid-east? OH wait, I remember, none!

How about all of the fresh water fish? You think those would survive well in all the saltwater when they are flushed down to the ocean?

Insect can survive any storm? Even when no land exists anywhere on earth for days at a time? Got any sources to prove this absurd statement?

Your assertions make no sense and have 0 scientific /factual credibility.

Edit:

To Japandra:
"And it is well known what happens to plants that are grown in high-pressure, high-oxygen conditions: they grow much, much larger and healthier than ones from a normal environment."

You moron, plants grow better in CO2: Carbon Dioxide, not Oxygen!

Oxygen is a poison to plants, just as C02 is a poison to us.

You claim just ensured their deaths!

It's a real good try.

For one thing, it is only 2 of the unclean animals. For all clean animals, Noah was to have 7. For another thing, it is never explained how food sources were supplied for the animals who are carnivorous--did Noah bring extra lambs for the lions to eat, or did they have to fast for 40 days? (I'm not sure about the "Noah was a giant" thing, I've studied the Bible quite a bit and don't remember that bit).
The fact is, the fable is quite illogical when people try to apply it to reality. The only way to answer all the questions is by magic, which just isn't an acceptable way of doing things. If you asked: "How will astronauts be able to build colonies on the moon?" and I answer: "Magic"...well, I doubt that'd satisfy you.

It does sort of make sense??

I'm sure someone will find something wrong with the theory. Of course I don't know how to build an arc and I'm not a historian, so I don't even know what species of animals were living back in those days. But...I like the possibility.

1) noah wasn't a giant.

2) god can talk to the animals too you know....

3) even without it being signifigantly larger than it sounds, its still pretty frickin big.

4) if you idealized the circumstances and saw "each animal" as actually being a single "species" of each genus, or something like that. that is, that for example in "representation" of all canines as we know it. all dogs, all wolves, cyotes, ect and so forth, would be a SINGLE species. then the whole thing makes more sense. personally I think that there being a separate "version" of noah's ark (seperate people... separate boats, operating entirely independently) from different cultures and such, that simply happened to never have crosses paths while afloat.

Not really. How did less than 10 people take care of all those animals? How did they feed them? How did they clean up after them? How did they exercise them? How did they keep fresh air flowing? What did they feed the carnivores? What did they feed the animals that will only eat live kill?

Imagine a moderate size zoo. Now put 7-8 people in charge of it for many months. What would be the state of the animals? I suspect most of them would be long dead.

A
