Judaism is the religion! Zionism is the group of people(movement) that believe the Jews should claim their rightful place in Israel! They believe that all the Jews should come back and live in Israel!

Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people. Zionism is the political movement, originally concerned with the re-establishment of a Jewish state in the Land of Israel (which was re-named Palestine by the conquering Romans in an effort to erase any Jewish connection with said land), and presently concerned with the preservation of the Jewish state.

Not all Jews are Zionists (though only an extremist fringe actively opposes the existence of Israel), and not all Zionists are Jews. And while the earliest proponents of Zionism as a modern political movement were secularists, Zionism and Judaism are not considered mutually exclusive, and there are a great many orthodox Jewish "Religious Zionists," for whom the re-birth of the State of Israel is considered the "first flowering of our redemption".

Again, to re-cap, Judaism is a religion, Zionism is a political movement. They are not synonymous, but they are not mutually exclusive either.

I hope this helps clear things up.

Judaism is a religion, Zionism is politically motivated and uses the suffering of Jews over 60 years ago as a political and moral "exemption" or "wild card". A small sect of Judaism extremists started the Zionist movement and after many Jewish religious leaders parished during WWII, the Zionists stepped in as leaders. Many Jews, especially the more "religious" Rabbi's denounce the Zionist state. Jews and Palestinians lived in harmony until the creation of Israel, which by the way is the core reason for all tensions between Islam and the western( Israel supporting ) world today. - Well, okay maybe Bush's invasion of Iraq might give the Israel issue a run for the money, but the creation of the "Zionist" state definately made all Jews, not just Israelites, the target of extreme animosity and hatred by the Muslim world who sympathize with the Palestinians who lost their land and freedom when the UN and NATO(USA & GB) created Israel. Funny how we (USA) preach about seperation of Church & State, eh?

i think it is like difference betweeen Islamism and Talibanism. Most of real jews blieve that zionism is a movement that is NOT following the principles of jewish religioun and so is the case with Talibanism. Many Muslims blieve that Taliban are not following the real teachings of Islam. Taliban claim that they are serving Islam, but in reality, they are working against the principles of Islam. the first verse of the Quran at the time of revelation says: "Read" which is an emphasis on education and learning. meanwhile, according to islamic belief, obtaining education is an obligation on every Muslim, male and female, but Taliban did not allow girls to go to school. they killed hondreds of thier muslim apponents and even they did not show any sympathy towards animals.
so the conclusion is that both Zionism andTalibanism use religion as a tool to reach thier illegitimate goals

Zionism = Talibanism
Judaism = Islamism

According to Moses Mendelssohn (1729-86), Jews would be accepted if they would come out from under the restraints of the Talmud and conform to Western culture. In his day, he became one of the Jews most respected by the Gentile world. However, renewed outbursts of violent anti-Semitism in the 19th century, especially in “Christian” Russia, disillusioned the movement’s followers, and many then focused on finding a political refuge for the Jews. They rejected the idea of a personal Messiah who would lead the Jews back to Israel and began to work on establishing a Jewish State by other means. This then became the concept of Zionism: “the secularization of . . . Jewish messianism,” as one authority puts it.

people who pass on rants approximately Zionism are fairly purely conserving their hatred of Jews by using utilising distinctive words. declaring you like Jews, yet can not stand the vast majority of Jews indoors the international (who're Zionists--by using utilising actuality of this they have confidence Israel has a real to exist), does not fool each physique. EDIT: And the greater suitable comments are purely as predictable.
