I am not sure what you are asking??? Your computer will not work/boot and you need key words? First of all you must get into your computers CMOS to have it detect the CD-ROM and not knowing what kind of computer you have makes it impossible for me to tell you what hot key to push during start up so you can get into the CMOS. You must give us more information about your computer. However, if you push the F8 key during start up you will get into Windows XP boot window and the you can select Windows safe mode which allows you to by-pass all drivers and should finish your computers boot process. Other than that there is not much else I can tell you without more information on your computer and its make.

Restore CD is the most common for Windows, but you can try boot CD or bootable CD as well.
You're computer should have come with a CD to use in such a situation. That will be the easiest and best option. If you don't have that or lost it, you can try contacting the producer of your computer for a CD. Depending on the age of your computer they should have one that they can send you to get your computer running and installed exactly as it was when you bought it.

There are many Linux live cds available .
With these live cds you neednt have to install , straightaway boot from your CD . You can also backup your data if you have these live cds.
Google for : List of live cd.

There are different names for it, but as long as you say something to the point of recovery disc, boot disc, restore cd, I'm sure whoever you're talking to will know what you're talking about.
