I know that he took 2 of every animal and he took his wife and his sons and their wives. Didn't everyone else die? If thats right how to we have people of different races? Or did other people around the world survive the flood?

There is actually evidence of a great flood in that area where Noah lived.
Many of races have a similar flood stories also, including Native Americans.
Many other races...such as the Egyptians have no flood story at all.
There is not much doubt that at one time there WAS a "Great Flood" for some people of the Earth.
But you have to understand that Noah's "world" was just that.
HIS world.
For many years humans had no idea jut how big the world was.
Noah could have very easily taken all of HIS animals and HIS multi-cultural family on a boat of that size and ride out this "great flood" of HIS world.
It is a story that is NOT to be discredited though.
But as a learned person you also need to know that the Biblical World was not the existance of the rest of the earth.

Those who believe the myth of Noah's flood would say that the various races of humans developed after the flood. That's much easier to accept than the idea that Noah carried a pair of every kind of animal through the flood.

All humans have the genetic capacity to produce the whitest white child or the blackest black child and every possible shade in between--We all came from Adam and Eve. The races begin to seem different when small groups of people move away and intermarry for long periods of time. But, it is only an illusion. We are all the same--descendants of God, of Adam and of Noah.

When you read the bible you will see that most lived to be over 7 , 8 and 9 hundred years old each. It would be right to assume that they were also able to have many children in their life times.

So we might believe that they, being Noah's family, had something to do with the repopulation of the earth.

“Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” “Death ruled as king from Adam down.” (Ro 5:12, 14)

This was said of Adam, so God made it possible that Adam in his genes could produce different races......Noah being a descendant of Adam the same is also true. God then blessed the flood survivors by saying to them “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth.” God had said this also to Adam and Eve

Good question tho

To be more precise, he took representatives of every "kind" of animal. that is, say dogs, he took two dogs, male and female, not two beagles, two poodles, etc.. Yes, all except those on the ark died. For an explanation of the different people groups that came from Noah and his family, see this link:

It is a rather lengthy, but thorough article on this topic, and it makes perfect sense.

Noah preached and the people had the opportunity to get on the ark, but no one but his family believed him until it began to rain. But by then God had closed and sealed the door. It was too late. They were beating on the door of the ark, but they couldn't get in. Kind of like how it's going to be again, only not with a flood.

eh it probably meant he flooded the earth. well the known earth. What noah and his poeple knew of the earth was flooded. This would help explain two of every animal. Every KNOWN animal to noah at the time.

the complications of taking the story of Noah's ark literally are nearly impossible to surmount. one truly would have to go on faith to believe the story actually occurred as told. the relatively small size of the ark, the feeding of the animals, the cleaning out of manure, the ventilation (none), the time and millage it would take to collect up every creature from around the globe (crossing seas, deserts and mountain ranges). and would that collecting include insects? birds? bats? snakes? rodents?
well ... you get the picture. one would have to suspend all logic in one's mind to believe this story is factually presented.
