That way those of us who want to ask questions about religion and spirituality will have some space to do so.

That is what I'm saying THIS is the A vs C fight club, what about the rest of us? where can we go to ask questions?
I don't care about Athiests or Christians or the litte squabbles they have but I love learning about religion and exploring spirituality.

Pamela you have a good point, what are Athiests doing on the religion page? It does seem rather counter-intuitive doesn't it?

Sorry Amanda D I didn't mean to offend you, of course Athiests have every right to be in this page, Just because someone is not religious does not mean that person is not spiritual.

Because people are always trying to defend their 'side' and that means 'bickering' or 'trash-talking' the other side.

If they are 'right' then you must be 'wrong'..... and you cant be wrong therefore you have to convince yourself that you are 'right' by telling them they are 'wrong'

This type of cyclical reasoning often gets out of hand, even with "like-minded" people. This is exactly what has happened between Sunni and Shia over here in Iraq.

The hope in the end is that a coupe of people will see the "grey" in between their argument and the other persons. The REAL hope is that both of them will at least agree to disagree in the end.

It's called Religion & Spirituality page under Society and Culture for there to be more arguments between Athiests & Christians

You don't like the bickering, ah, but here you are contributing to it.

EDIT

Atheists have just as much right to be here as you. You think that just because you believe in God, that you are the only person with any spirituality? You can have that without having God. Besides, it doesn't say "Must believe in God" it just says "Religion and Spirituality" which means only that your questions should have something to do with these two things.

yes I find Christians to be totally narrow minded, ignorant and frankly incredibly boring .

Perhaps what you want is not an agnostics area but more a Gnostic area for those who wish to seek Knowledge ie Gnosis rather than the spoon feed bulshiite they hand out to the sheep in the established churches.

I am sick of the way people confuse religion with God

Back in the old days, when Yahoo Chat had User-created rooms, there was a section called Atheists VS Christians; there were so many fights in that chat room, and very little real interchange of ideas or information.

Good point! I'm sick of plowing through their endless trivial kibbitzing. They sound just like one another. Plus its annoying when you ask a question about something spiritual that doesn't involve either extreme and both the fundamentalist atheists and the fundamentalist Christians chime in and start preaching their tired party line.

I wanted to say "what's wrong with this one?" until I saw what you meant.

You're right, it's annoying. And besides Atheists and preachy Christians, there are also some idiots (sorry for the harsh word) who just post the most stupid things to keep themselves busy.

there are so many questions pertaining to christianity because christians are looking for more support and proof that they're not wrong in devoting their lives to an empty cause. they basically deep down aren't sure wtf they're doing and hope to get lots of christian responses that inspire them and keep them on the christian path.

ps) i love how christians refer to people as either "christian" or "atheist" even though atheist means not believing in ANY god(s). there is NOT just christianity and then NOTHING. that is the sick mindset of christianity: they feel dominate and are stubborn as all hell! there are countless other religions and philosophies out there! learn them! for instance, i'm agnostic, meaning i have no proof yet to believe in anything. learn your terminology and educate yourselves with something more than just the bible!

They have, it's called Religion & Spirituality

I agree. I think a separate Atheist section is needed. If someone wanted to make moderate amounts of criticism and opinion, then fine. If they want to be around other atheists or attack Christians and members of other faiths, they should go elsewhere to another section.

I will point out that it is just as wrong to attack Christians as it is to attack Muslims and Jews.
