Carbohydrates come in three forms - sugar, starches, and cellulose (plants).

Bread is a type of starch that is made up of glucose molecules and glucose is, again, a form of sugar.

If you chew on a piece of bread for a while, it will begin to taste sweet because the enzymes in saliva are already beginning to break down the starch into glucose.

Your saliva is strong enough to digest bread.

The bread is digested into sugars in your mouth, therefore, it will taste sweet.

I know of people who put bread in their mouth at the start of an arm wrestling match. The reason they do this is because when the bread turns into sugar, the sugar will give the arm wrestler a little more power because that sugar in their mouth gets used for energy very quickly. Since the sugar from the bread is fully digested, it goes directly into the blood stream via membranes in the mouth. This process can help extend an arm wrestling match longer.

a stable question. Bread is composed of starch, this is a complicated carbohydrate. It has very super molecules which your physique can not take up. An enzyme on your saliva referred to as ptyalin breaks the starch molecules down into sugars, that are plenty smaller, soluble molecules, that could bypass with the aid of the partitions of your digestive tract into your bloodstream.
