here's my problem...
i met this girl about 4 month ago and we've been really good friends and ever since i met her i've been having feeling towards her...then about last month she told me she likes my friend and i felt so depressed and told her i liked her. well she told me we can only be friends and nothing more... now her and my friend are together and i cant stop thinking abt her i know i should forget but i just cant. me and her is still very close and friends and she even told me some stuff about how i can forget abt her...(she also told me that she had some feeling towards me but it was not as much as the feelings she had towards my friend)

my friend she's together with right now they dont know each other very well and a few of my friends told me that i should wait till they break up...

Additional Details

thesedays whenever i see or even think about them being together i just feel my heart sinking down... i've tried to avoid her at school but that just made things awkward. now

people have also been telling me that my friend is jealous because she sometimes likes to spend time with me and we can really talk about anything without thinking too much...

The best friend I have is my husband, so don't be discouraged about "just being friends".
Try not to focus on the negative. After all she is very lucky to have such a caring friend as you.Try backing off a bit -let her think you're interested in somebody else. A little hard to get may be in order, ya know?! Now get out there and get yourself an attitude. It'll be okay. :) _Skeptic_

The problem here is that you do not have enough in your life to keep you occupied without thoughts of her. Take up a hobby. As for it feeling awkward, I promise that will go away in time. You need to step away from the situation for a bit, get some perspective. Once you do that, friendship, and maybe more will be possible. She may just decide that you leave a void in HER life and start to want what it seems she can't have.
Good luck! HTH
