I agree, the whole business is very systematic, the impact of drugs and drug-related crime that comes from Mexico is sufficient case in my mind for the US/Mexico border fence all by itself.
I think actually, there might be more farmland in america than in Mexico, but you can always basically 'manufacture' farmland, develop soil, build irrigation systems, and so forth. Where there's a will, there's a way, it's just that the way things have been going, our agriculture system has relied on people moving in illegally to work the fields or whatever.
But, the 21st century is upon us, and change is everywhere, and assimilation is not easy for some, and some people never really assimilate, they just work seasonally, and go home. That's fine, too. But, there should be a bona-fide work visa program for that.
I'd like to see more facts tabled on immigration, illegal immigration, and the law as it applies to the whole business.
I think our law enforcement's got miles to go until it's improved,
I think there should be a 10-year moratorium on immigration AND a 10-year statute of limitations on deporting people, if you've been in the country for more than a decade and the INS or whatever hasn't caught you by now, congratulations, you're a citizen. The moratorium would clarify that after a given date, there'd be no immigration for a 10-year period, so as to provide clarity on the whole mess.
At the end of the day, some politician's probably going to start proclaiming 'amnesty'. It'll be interesting to see what they finally decide to do, there...

I applaud your sensitivity.
You are obviously a great contortionist and your head likes warm, moist places. Then, considering your lack of charity and your seriously tight sphincter, you could probably combine a good laxative and a crowbar to your fortuitous advantage.
If you had had any experience in third world countries, you would know that their motivations are totally different from those of citizens of first world countries. These people you think are so greedy and ambitious and calculating are merely trying to keep their families alive and healthy--things we here in this great land take for granted.
Maybe you should have seen children with distended stomachs from hunger, or people with no arms or legs from war which has gotten a little too up close and personal.
I know to what lengths I personally would go to care for my family, and obeying immigration laws that aren't even being enforced by a foreign country (America) wouldn't be on my list of things to do.
Take off your blinders. Open your heart. Change your attitude.
P.S. Get your farming and land use and labor facts straight. Not only are you close minded and small hearted, but you also sound like a moron, and I'm embarrassed for you.

I feel sorry for them, but they still need to come legally. I wouldn't say they do it to have more "things" either. Have you been to Mexico? Yeah, some of it's really nice, but some of it sucks. They give a gallon of milk for a prize at some fairs, I'm serious. There are homes that look like abandoned shacks with no windows, doors. There is no water treatment in some areas. I'm all for legality and I don't think anyone should have as big of a border problem as we do, but geez- they way you think about people is kinda cruel.

Mexico has about one tenth the growing land that the US does. The farm land in Mexico belongs to a few rich people. The very poor have nothing.

People who snatch purses on the street or embezzle are also breaking the law to have more things. It gives them a better life. However, they are stealing, just as the illegals here are stealing education and health care funds from our children and sick. I understand why they want to come, I'd like to own many things some of my neighbors have too, and know I never will. That doesn't make it ok for me to use their belongings without their permission.

Your really misinformed about the land abundance in Mexico.....Mexico does not have good farm land.....Most of it is mountainous terrain and not suitable for farming....They come here because its impossible to live off $25 a week.....I wouldn't call that necessarily greedy, but more NEEDY.....

I don't either. If you mean Mexican imigrants, they cannot survive in Mexico, literally. They are not coming here to get rich, they are coming here to get enough to eat and to send money back to support thier families, nothing more.

Good for you.i am glad you feel that way.
Yes, the Mexican Indians are abandoning all that farmland, just to come to the USA. They felt sorry for the wealthy white Mexicans and gave them the farmland. Was not that nice of them.Just like in the USA native Americans gave all the good farmlands to white people.
