I have noticed over the years that the religious will always get angry or violent when it comes to thier personal beliefs. Strange isn't it. They are for the most part unable to have a reasonable discussion about these things.

How can you ask a question like that? You're on a public internet forum, for crying out loud. Anyone can access it and say they're someone, although maybe they're lying or maybe they don't even understand their own faith. And you judge all Christians by the unfortunate ignorance and mistakes of some? Christians should not be closeminded. God wants us to challenge ourselves and He tests our faith. We should always try to learn more. I don't know who "spewed venomous hate" at another person for asking a question, but if it really was a reasonable question, then do you honestly think that that was a fair Christian response?

No.

So don't act like that is the Christian way, please.

Not all are and some have a hard time with challenges to Christianity because they are either not well versed in scripture or possibly do not truly understand the meaning of Christianity. If you have not love it means nothing.

When will you braindead morons - both atheist and Christian and whatever - stop being SO presumptuous and SO judgemental and making SO many generalizations? I can't take it anymore. Stop being so bitter and examine the DOCTRINE of Christianity, not some of the morons that claim to follow it. You just... eugh, you frustrate me. Get a life.

The problem lies in indoctrination and dogmatism. They are loath to change their pre-determined views about their religion, which had been thrust on them from the pulpit. They do not allow their free will the liberty to operate and scrutinize the preachings of the priests.

Is that enough for you to validate your unbelief before G-d on your time of judgement??

Why do parents speak so strongly about drinking and driving to kids? or drugs? Because they have seen the truth. Unbeleivers have not. I dont know one born again person who ever left the faith. But I know lots of athiests (like me) who acepted Jesus.

Read my 1st sentence 1000 times until it sinks in.

I think that's true from what I've seen. Perhaps they haven't truly internalized the faith.

But remember, they're just people too. I don't think Christians should try to say they're better than the next guy, they should just focus on preaching about God's love for mankind, because that's what they believe.

so when it is time to turn the other cheek,
the gloves come off?

we would respect you if own up to your mistakes,
you christian are a group,
if you are willing to share the glory,
the you should bare the shame,
it works both ways.
you claim to be better people,
but you don't show it.
you read the words but don't learn the lessons.

I'm a christian and i understand your question. it is unfortunate it happens, even if it's not true of all christians' responses. i'd like to see us interacting more, and not being so defensive or "venomous".

i think it's cos 1) they aren't perfect and 2) some, in their "frailty", mistakenly take a question or attack on their faith too personally and response out of that rather than out of the love and openness Jesus wants of us.
