i have no clue my kids dad is an addict and he completley ignores the whole thaught that he has kids and the way things are right now i know me and the kids are better off. it gets hard some times but having him here spending our bill money and grocery money on drugs would only make it harder. i think it because when someone is on drugs and liking it all they see is the drugs my kids dad thaught he wasnt hurting anyone. he would leave me and the kids at home with no car no money for anything if we needed anything. he wouldnt spend time with the kids when he was here he was either to busy sleeping or griping and trying to fight with me. i had to make him leave cause he wouldnt and he kept coming back but when he would come back he would never say he was sorry for anything and he wouldnt even talk about it. it was like he would only want to come home when he was broke and hungry so i finally got a restraining order on him. its been 6 months now and i think he came to see the kids like 3 times thats it.

The reason why people that are on drugs think that they are alright is because thats what the drug is telling them once you get on drugs that is your life, and drugs keep you thinking that this is what you need until you get to a point were you think that you are ok and everyone else is not, people tend to think that a drug is a way of life when it is actually a mind poison that kills in the end

Ask them. Honestly, if all the signs are there help them. And let them know that you are there for them, they think they are ok b/c that is what the drug is doing to them. It puts them into a euphoria where everything is "OK" but in real life there world can be coming to a crashing stop. So yeah that's why its chemicals in the drug that have a good effect fro the person but bad effect b/c it gives them false safety while killing brain cells and other organs such as your heart, lungs, or liver, etc.

When someone is an addict, habitual use of the drug of choice clouds the addicts' mind. Since they began using, they haven't been thinking or functioning with absolutely clean rationale. If you look at virtually any addict, you won't see someone who makes reasonable decisions, decisions that are in their best interest. The decisions they make are all centered around their addictions, and most are made only when considering preserving their usage. Addictions rob people of rationale.

Denial, while it certainly hinders recognition of the the true problem; is, part of being human. Even non addicts and recovered people experience denial. You can't get thru life without a certain amount of it. Otherwise, life is too brutal.

Why do people think they're alright when they're NOT druggies? They feel like they're fine. They have no real reason to think there is a problem...at least, until they get arrested.
