Would it be better that I hated Israel and mocked the High Holy Days?

I don't understand whats wrong with learning about the OT from a rabbi, celebrating the feasts as Yeshua commanded us, and keeping the Law to the best of my ability.

I don't think I am Jewish. I am not looking to convert any Jews or anyone else.

Why the beef????

Shalom,
David

I would say study both once you start to gain understanding I think you will see a beauty that goes hand in hand with the NT. Remember how Jesus lived and what he followed. The funny think about the laws considering Jesus was Jewish, most peopl eat **ham on Christmas?

Christians will have a problem with you doing this as I think Paul wrote that you should not follow the laws, etc. If you go against this you are going against Paul's? word. So you must learn both and find understanding what is right to you and god.

David,

I have nothing against you. Just a little history. It angers me that many messianic groups prey on Jews that are ignorant of there traditions and faith and often lies to them to get them to get them to Christianity. As a result I am often very aggressive against messianic groups because I feel that they are a dishonest Unchristian group.

if a Christian wants to practice Jewish customs like you I have no problem with it because it is a free country.

I'm just starting to learn about Messianics. (remember me?) My guess is that you are going against their faith. You are keeping the traditions but by believing that the man named Jesus is the Messiah, you are going against their faith, their belief. Jews are still waiting for the Messiah. I just read about the Wailing Wall and it's all interesting to me and I respect them all. I just feel sadness for them because they are still waiting for the Messiah and for redemption when we already have it. They aren't able to rejoice in Christ our Lord yet.

I am Catholic who is learning Hebrew and reading a Hebrew bible along with an English New American Bible. (OT of course) Can I talk with a Rabbi? Would I be welcomed in a synagogue?

Shalom

there are a number of historic factors that make contributions to antisemitism. at first, there is the character of Judaism. Jews have traditionally been a clannish society. some cultures combination properly with others, different cultures prize their independence. A strict observance of Judaism demands some separation from gentile society. you could not settle for different gods; you could not often devour the same ingredients because of the fact the human beings around you; you at the instant are not meant to intermarry; there are even dress standards that make you seem distinctive from human beings. Insofar as human nature teaches us to be suspicious of people who're distinctive than us, that is been incredibly organic for societies to have a suspicion of Jews - who, inspite of each thing, lacked a place of start for almost 2000 years and who consistently stumbled on themselves tucked away into different international places and cultures. there is likewise the reality that Christianity sprang from Judaism. Christians oftentimes don't comprehend why Jews reject Jesus; some Christians even interpret the scriptures as asserting that the Jews crucified Jesus. Jewish persecution of early Christian community became into properly documented interior the recent testomony and, extremely or not, some Christians nonetheless carry it against the Jews. yet another contributing element became into the classic usury rules of the two Christianity and Judaism. traditionally, Christians weren't allowed to fee pastime on loans to different Christians. So, once you're a unfavorable Christian and choose a loan, you could seem to a Jewish moneylender. no person likes their moneylender, so Jews have been given a bad call. consequently, this comparable concept labored to alienate Jews from Christians. Jews additionally ought to not lend funds to different Jews, so as they had to borrow from Christians. interior the final 2 centuries, Jews have additionally been heavily linked with modern-day strikes, fairly communism and anarchism. Insofar as all of us is petrified of communism and anarchism, they have had a suspicion of Jews because of the presence of a few in demand Jews in those strikes. i'm not arguing that antisemitism is a very good concept. purely offering some contributing historic factors to describe the phenomenon.

If you are a Messianic Jew why do you not think you're Jewish? They consider themselves "completed" or "fulfilled" Jews.

But if you believe in Yeshua, you don't have to "keep the Law to the best of (your) ability". Read Galatians, over and over until you get what Paul's saying about the Law and its uselessness in preventing sin.

Messianic Judaism is somewhat of a farce, for it claims Jesus is the Messiah when he clearly does not fit the description of the Messiah.

Because you are trying to convert us! And, if you were born Jewish, you're a idolatar.
