You are allergic to something in the apartment. Throw out all your toxic cleaners and get some all natural one. You will need to wipe down the walls and ceilings in every room and shampoo the carpets with some non toxic carpet cleaner. Consider getting an air purifier.

I have multiple chemical sensitivity. It started out with an exposure to a mold.Mold is a living breathing organism. It is a fungus, same family as mushrooms. There is only one way to kill it and that is with bleach.Although there is a high success rate using straight lemon juice. The formula is 2 tblspoons per qt of water.Using a spray bottle, spray any area that has dampness or condensation. This is the growing climate for the fungus.concentrate on window glass(winter makes condensation on glass, causing mold) then spray inside and out of your toilet. not forgetting to pour a little straight bleach into the tank. Then do the shower and all sinks again putting a few capfuls of straight bleach into the drains. check under all the sinks, look for damp spots, use the solution again. While you are doing this, keep track of things like leaky faucets or dampness around window frames. These are all maintenance issues your landlord will need to fix.As for the carpet, I would keep vacuuming everyday until the landlord can get that carpet cleaned. That should have been done before you moved in. If it is the dust in the apt, look at blinds, curtains ,the tops of your upper cabinets and clean them. You did not mention if the place is furnished, that could be part of the problem also. Most people never vacuum their furniture and it gets just as many dust mites as carpet. Get a vacuum that has a brush attachment and thoroughly clean all the furniture including the bed. That can be covered with a zippered hypo-allergenic cover. I wish you the best, I have suffered with mine for 20 yrs but it can be kept under control by using the solution as part of a weekly cleaning regimen and by very thorough vacuuming, with a good vacuum or by going to hardwood floors. I recommend you buy your own vacuum so that you can vacuum several times a week. Good Luck

You may be right. My parents lived in an old Victorian-style home converted into condominiums. Before moving in, my stepdad didn't have any problems. AFTER moving in, he started having allergic reactions to mold and mildew (which are bacteria). The entire condo they lived in wasn't carpeted, though. The mold and mildew was in the sheetrock of the walls, especially in the basement of thier unit.

Next time you see your doctor, mention to him or her what you stated in the last paragraph of your question. Everyone's tolerance level is vastly different in different environments, and an allergic reaction is nothing to be taken lightly. It may not be life-threatening, but, there's also nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion from a specialist like an allergist (if that's even a medical term). Always talk to a doc about this..and, if you're not convinced the doctor is informed enough, you have the right to seek a second opinion. Take care of yourself, hon. ^.^

Sounds like mold, and most likely is because the old carpet. There's only one thing I know that you can do to eliminate mold like that without completely tearing out the carpet and remodeling the place, and that is, get a hight quality air purifier. The one I use is called "Fresh Air" from a company called EcoQuest, and it works amazing! We stuck it in a room that had been flooded, and was moldy and mildew infested, and the purifier got rid of all of it in 24 hours!!

You can only buy them from certified dealers. Here's one of their sites where you can get more info: www.ecoquestintl.com/bobnease

Just e-mail them from there. They do free trials to see if it helps your problem or not. It's real cool!

I'm not sure about the whole lips thing... sounds like something off the mystery diagnosis show. But as for the heart issues, start taking iron and magnesium supplements. If those don't work, seek medical attention, beg your parents! Be over dramatic like your dying! Your health is important, so do whatever it takes to stay healthy. It almost sounds like you have Angina, a common ailment. Google it and see if that fits your symptoms. (:
