what should i do...?

i have a dog, he's a small jack russlle terrier, i luv him alot. i wana do every thing that would make him happy, but my family dont like my dog running around the house, so i have to keep him in a cage. when ever he sees me he barks non stop, cuz he wanst to play, but his barking gets my neighbores angry. my family told me that if i cant take care of my dog i should just give him away. what if there rite, what if i dont know how to take care of my dog... but i dont want to give him away, and i dont want to put him in a cage forever.... i really really love my dog but what if i gave him away to some one who would treat my dog really bad... i also feel sad that my dog wouldnt understand why i have to give him away. i live in philippines so some pepople here eat dogs, and i dont want my dog to end up with those kind of people. what should i do??? i want my dog to be in the kind of place where he can walk around the house, play with other dogs and with a person...

by the way, when my neighbores (the ones who 1st wanted me to give my dog away) knew that i was thinking about giving my dog away, they asked me if they could keep him...

Jack Russell Terriers are very high energy dogs, they need a lot of exercise, attention, and training. Without this, they will bark nonstop. At the very least, get a leash and take him for long walks 3 or 4 times a day. Find a good trainer who can help you train him, so that he won't have to live in the cage. You will have to invest a lot of time in this dog, or he will end up being an unbearable nuisance, but with good training and lots of exercise he can be a joy to you and your family.

First you need to talk to your family and ask they why the let you get the dog if you can't let him be a dog. It is not fair that he has to stay locked up and it must suck for you to not be able to let him out to run and play. Why don't you take him for walks and be outside in open areas if you insist on keeping him. If you feel it's best to give him away make sure you talk to the people you decide to give him to and decide if they will provide a good home or not. Next time you want to get a pet make sure you know what kind of care will be needed and what your family will allow.

OK best thing you can do to keep your dog you really really really love, is to take him walking or runng for 2 or more hours a day. this will tire him out enough to calm him down, then try to teach your family how to be loving with him too so they will let him run around in the house. If your dog has to stay caged 24 hours a day, that is animal cruelty. Find a JR rescue and give it to them to find a home for it.

You need to discuss this with your family. He won't be as yappy if he's not boxed up all the time. At *least* let him loose in your room.
