Buy scented candles, have some classical/relaxing music on, lay down on the couch or somewhere you feel safe, dump all your stressful thoughts away, IMAGINE a wide, clear field with a few blossoming trees, beautiful flowers everywhere, so colourful, birds chirping happily...just take that effort for that few minutes and you'd be in wonderland, trust me.
And when you're done, go wash your face and you're ready to overcome anything!
There are simple things that you can do and if you take the effort to do them instead of thinking only, you gonna get the benefits in the end! Also, I'd suggest you gonna look on the positive sides of life, just gotta think positively, come on, everything isn't as bad as you think they are ;)
Cheers

there is an excercise that relevies tension and stress at the same time that take about twenty minutes at the most, i hope it helps:
1) squeezing ur major muscle groups and holding for about 10 seconds and then feeling the differnce between ur tensed and relaxed muscles.
2)areas to be tensed:
-legs -eyebrows(u acheive this by raising them high as u can)
-fists (clenched)
-eyes(squeezed shut)
-arms(extend ur arms all the way so they r parrelell to the floor then make a right angle with ur arms)
3)remember to hold each posission for at least 7 sec.
4)helps to remoze any distractions such as:
-tight articels of clothing
-jewlery
-shoes
4) make sure u r alone
hope this helps, it does 4 me
happy holidays

Get a pet that doesnt pee on everything. Have enough money to not worry about financial problems (wish i was there) and try to look at the positive things in your life. If you think of something negative, just make something positive out of it. Even if it's just saying. I know this is bad now, but this is happening for a reason, probably to strengthen me for my future.

Some people say that if you stand up and scream/yell at the top of your lungs that it releases the stress from your body and you'll feel better.

A hot tub /Jacuzzi (up to your neck kind) and music
BUT avoid the alcohol because they are both diuretics & you will end up with a rippin head ache. Take a water bottle with you then when you get home, have a cocktail.
