I read an article in the newspaper the other day and it states that iPods has been reported that most of them self destruct when they're warranty is over. I'm not sure though.

from my experience, yeah they do. it seems that we have too many people coming in witin a couple of months of their warranty going out. Good thing they were smart enough to get the replacement plans for them...$20-50 goes a long way when replacing something $150-450...pay the extra money.....
