I agree! they should follow the law, i don't care if they are poor or they have problems in life! "NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW!" These people creates problems to the United States, not only do they take away jobs to "legal" people, they take money away from the government. Of course, if they have a child, the US government will have to cover the child!

I'm a legal immigrant and had to follow the entire process which was expensive enough to get here. Many of my country fellows have also followed the right procedures and even paid for a lawyer. Their process took many months. Now, I think it's REALLY unfair that the US govt is so flexible with Mexican immigrants but is very cruel and rigid with other immigrants from other countries. Illegal immigrants should be handled properly and humanly. Deporting them is fine if necessary, but again.. BE HUMAN. I read that a 3 m/o baby was separated from his mother because the mother was arrested as an illegal immigrant. Is that human???????

I am a little disconcerted with the facile use of the term "illegal immigrant" Do we know that this people want to immigrate? Most of the ones I have run cross in 40 years have told me they want to make some money and go home. I call them "undocumented workers" I think the attraction for them to come was historically created by our farm policies and the demand for these people in the fields, now because of their large numbers, we changed our minds and want them out. Some hypocrites that lauded the Caesar Chavez movement by naming streets in Los Angeles after him, never seem to realize that the same people Chavez represented are today's illegal immigrants . Furthermore, illegal implies a crime; if to to earn a living is criminal, then we are all criminals. And please don't blame the undocumented for receiving welfare, blame the stupid hypocritical organizations that extend it blindly in the name of compassion.
What is there to "tolerate" about another human being? Who died and made us superior to any one else? In what sense is an arrogant, selfish, inhuman, mercenary person better than a poor simple soul? Ignorance is bliss, because it makes us think we are so much better than others and we can condescend!

We need to indentify the migrants want to work, and the drug dealers pushing dope between the countries. I dont like the term illegal much because its only a civil offense to be in America without authorization. We should get them out of the shadows, and sort which immigrants are paying taxes, working. The migrants working, and not being criminals should be given a legal way to work. The problem is American immigration system does not factor in Mexican migration situation for work visa. A skilled worker has a better chance of getting work visa in Austraila, or Canada than the United States immigration system. We need work Permits for Mexican migrants, and work Permits for skilled workers should be made easier. I also support the abolisment of 14th amendant of anchor babies to have access to citizenship. We have not drew the a real distinction between citizenship than a person wanting to work a couple years in America and go home we have not made migration policies to recongize that problem.

I am when it comes to work. I live in New Orleans and many illegal immigrants have come here to work but in the mean time they are taking away the work of the legit business construction workers.
They don't bother me if they don't create havic and chaos in the schools, neighborhoods, or public. When they act respectable I could care less what they do, when they bring their crime with them I think they need to go back home.
I do think that they should have to pay taxes, follow all laws, speak english enough to get by, and be ineligable for the welfare system or any other government programs that tax payers pay for.

No. I think the illegal spanish speakers, Canadians, Africans, Haitians and other immgants coming in should go back home and work on whatever it is in their own country that is making them want to seek that better life here in the U.S
I don't want them here, and it seems like a lot of otherpeople are feeling the same wasy I do! If the do have to come, at least learn to speak the language and come into the U.S legally!

For the ones that are already here legally, fine, but I think we should stop all new immigration entirely - from ANY country. We simply do not need more immigrants. Other countries are already doing this. The US should follow suit.
Oh, you asked about illegals. I say no.

No, I do not support illegal and criminal activity.
U.S. citizens can be fined or imprisoned for a myriad of illegal activity.
I don't know why illegals are being tolerated. They committed a crime the second they set foot on U.S. soil and they should be punished by being deported.

If they want to get here, they need to come legally, speak English, show allegiance, and respect the laws. It's not like we are asking them to commit horrible atrocity to come here. There are many countries that ask far more of would be citizens.
