99% of the Turkish population is Muslim and approx. 200,000 Christian citizens living in Türkiye. Most of them are living in İstanbul, İzmir, Mardin, Hatay, Diyarbakır and Mersin.

ok, all the above given percents are right. But as for real believers, thats a big question mark..In the great majority of our people's identity cards the religion is expressed as Islam, but for instance i am in fact a non-believer..So i'm not sure the statistics depending on the identity cards do explain the real panorama..
A large-dimensioned questionnaire may solve this problem.

98% percent of the country is muslim according to their last goverment census. Other 2 percent is some kind of christian or jew.

RELIGION IS NOT A CULTURAL THING. BUT it is not a governmental issue either. Here in Turkey Religion is religion. And about christians, if you want to go to church you can find one in every city of Turkey.

If I had made a poll in and around my acquaintances, 0% would come out. But the government likes to stamp people and Islam is written on my ID card. Comical, ha!

Statistics doesn't matter, in Turkey you can believe in whatever you want. If you're a tourist, no one asks your religion. People are mostly tolerant to all beliefs.
