"if he loves you he wouldn't ask you to change"

What if you're a serial killer or child abuser? Is everyone who asks their partner to try to change some aspect of their personality wrong to ask?

Ignoring the fact that people seldom change for someone else, does the mere fact of asking for change mean you don't love that person?

I think in some cases you should ask a person to change if you love them. What if they were heavy drinkers and have almost died from it or something like that? I would want that person to change if I loved them..

If you fall in love with someone and truly love them, then you don't ask them to change because you love them as they are...not what you want them to be. So if you fall in love with a serial killer or child abuser...knowing that this is what this person is...then you are saying that you accept them as is whenever you say the words I LOVE YOU

that's dumb. that's like saying "well if you say 'do whatever makes you happy' does that mean i can kick puppies and leer at altar boys?"

every relationship involves compromise, but asking someone to change major aspects of their personality or lifestyles is unfair. you knew what you were getting into in the first place, right?

Good point. No one's perfect and we all have bad habits. I know I have plenty. You can love someone and ask them to change annoying things that are unbearable.

I think it all depends on the situatiion. No one is perfect though...no matter how much you are in love, we're human, there's gonna be at lease one small thing about that person that bugs you.

Small changes are good,if you love someone! You love someone for who they are,why would would you want to shange them!
