I am not saying you should or shouldn't but you must wait for a little while longer before you take that big step. My brother & I use to be in the military. I was around a few Marines here & there. When a person enters into the military, they will be a changed person; better in some ways but worse in others. You do realize there is a war going on. He could be deployed as soon as he is finished with all of his training. Neither of you will have control over that. Have you heard of any stories about soldiers with shell shock? I almost married someone who was in the Navy. I knew him longer, in fact we use to be a couple in high school. He started drinking more. If I was to marry him, I would've been very unhappy. Plus, I would have to adjust my life, my career. I didn't want to do that. If you wanna continue your education in TX law, then do that. Or else you would have to start over somewhere else. Think about your priorities, who or what comes first? Think about the benefits of you taking care of your education 1st. Think about possible temptation.Think about regrets you will have later on in life. There is a lot for you to think about. It won't hurt to wait.

You have only been together for a few months, I say give it some time to see if this is what you really want and do not jump the gun and marry him because he just left for the Marine Corps. What is it about your career that is holding you back, is it something that you can change? If you think its hard to be away from him now, wait until your married and he gets shipped off for months maybe even a year at a time. I am not saying do not marry him but I am saying think about it and make sure that it is what you really want and not just your escape from your career

As long as you are ambivalent enough to ask people who are total strangers to advise you about getting married.... you shouldn't yet. When you know that is what you want and you are ready for it, then get married.

Heaven's! Don't take my advice for it! I screwed up choosing both of my former husbands and now I'm alone. Just be sure, Honey.

Best Wishes,

Sue

It's a tough life and not for everyone! You will have months alone when he is deployed. But if you really love each other I wish you the best of luck! There are support systems in place for military wifes... please don't hesitate to make use of this if you need to!

Follow your heart. If you wake up in the morning and this man is the first thing thats pops in to your head, he is your life partner and you should marry him. You can transfer schools.
