Potasium is a good start. You also may not be drinking enough water. Make sure your shoes have good cushion and support if you are on your feet alot.

Potassium did not help me with this problem, but magnesium did. Spasms occur when there is an imbalance in calcium and magnesium, and the problem is aggravated by dehydration. My doctor put me on 400 mg magnesium three times per day (breakfast, dinner, bedtime), with a glass of water with each. The spasms cleared up on the first day, and have only returned when I forget to take magnesium after a lot of sweating.

Cramps are mainly a sign of lack of potassium! Try exercising regulary, jogging and taking walks. And eating fruits, bananas mainly, try 1 or 2 a day. And drink loads of water 1-2 litres a day. You probably are spending more time seated in one place.

Simple. Drink more water. Leg cramps (especiall in the calf) are caused by dehydration. I got them almost every night when I was pregnant...for a few weeks anyway...until I started drinking more water. Good luck.

YOU could go to a doctor. IT seem that cramps can be prevented by eating potassium. Bananas are high in it.

I have always find it extremely helpful to stretch my body, with emphasis on my leg muscles. I do this before I get up and prior to any strenuous physical activity. I also massage my legs and feet regularly. I really hope that you feel better.

Those leg cramps are called Charlie horses, I get those too..
You know, when I get those leg cramps.. I get as fast as I can out of bed and stand up.. It helps me to calm the Leg cramps down...
So if you get one of those, try getting up out of bed, before it gets going to much.. (Because as soon as you do get out of the bed and stand up.. Less and sooner you can get relief before it get to painful..)
