As you have said, she was the second wife of Vasudeva, in whom was the seventh child transplanted from Devaki. Please see this site, which says that Rohini was a common Hindu feminine name, after the name of the consort of Moon.

Rohini was another wife of Vasudeva and she was staying in nanda gopas house . Since the foetus was Sri Adisesha himself who came earlier to the lord he was installed in Rohinis womb.
He became elder brother of Krishna being the son of same father.
