It is suppose to connect a part of the brain that, by the age of 5, if it hasn't been stimulated it will not connect. It sounded very interesting! I would have to look for the site!

Sigmund Freud once said that the mother is always the childs first teacher so he said if a mother reads to a child since the child is born he has a better and faster understanding of words and sounds try reading to him

Music stimulation has a lot to answer for look into it more !! But i think anything u teach a two year old they will soak up like a sponge that they are. I wish my parents gave me a guitar when i was that age i might actually be able to play now, well im learning and i enjoy it. but what im saying is teach kids anything that young and they will be naturals at it :)

first of all, many children's eyes are damaged by too early reading.

second of all, use every appearance of letters everywhere to teach your child about our use of symbols to represent language. the piano is a great place. so are all the signs on the roads. so are little index cards you write words on and tack up all over your house, labeling everything you can.

thirdly, a huge cognitive leap is required for kids to get that symbols (letters) represent other things. you'll just have to wait for that leap to occur for all this info to gel. that's okay. some kids read at 2 - 4 years old (the very gifted ones) and others, some equally gifted, don't learn to read until 8 - 10. they're busy doing other things. but, read lots of books to him. read the same books over and over. get lots of alphabet books, with lovely pictures and funny pictures and just every few pages mention the sounds letters make. you're just telling him - don't quiz him. you'll spend a few years saturating his environment with letters and their meanings, with your use of and love of reading, and soon he'll be reading alongside you.

sorry but I can't buy that. It might work but is that fun? is that what he needs? My daughter started writing letters at 3.5. I never pushed her that way but we play, draw and read A LOT Together. SHE (not me) got interested in the letters and asked to know more. She's 4.5 and reads & spells simple words. I do not and will not push her. But by reading to her alot, she sees that there are stories in books and that the sooner she can read, the more stories she can have since mum is not ALWAYS available for it.
let kids be kid but make sure you tune up to their need.

Never heard of that, but putting rhythm to anything helps kids retain the information, my 5 yr old is proof, put a rhyme to it and she remembers, music in general is good for kids.

It might help prepare him for learning but I don't see him learning to read through it. I'm sure it would help his concetration and help him learn to associate letters by you showing him at an early age.

turn on some "blues clues". it will help him learn his abc's. but 2 yr. olds don't have the capacity to read yet.
