how to go about getting the paper work to sing up

Police Officers do not need to SING ! S I N G.
They do however need to apply by SIGNING (SIGN) up at the local HR (human resources) department for the County for a deputy usually the Court House in that county will house the HR dept. If you want to be a City Officer, you can apply at the City Court House which sometimes houses the HR Dept.
Sometimes, you can apply & they will train you for these positions after you start. Especially if you are willing to work hard, you could become a jailer at a Detention Center Facility & work your way up. That is a great place to start learning to handle yourself & gain skills that you will need to deal with subjects with questionable character.
Good Luck if this is your career choice.
Oh, and good Singing, won't hurt with the fellow jailers, especially if your any good at it!
singing was probably a typo. but a good lieutenant will also teach you that typos are extremely important when writing tickets & incident reports, because lawyers will tear things like that up in court & intimidate you for not being able to spell or not using spell checker.

My guess is it depends on where you want to be a police officer. Most departments have websites. I know the local Houston department has an entire page dedicated to the process of becoming an officer. Do a Yahoo! Search for the department you're interested in.
You'll more than likely have to get a background check, do a physical test, and pass a polygraph.

Apply in the nearest Police Headquarters nearest your house. They will provide you with the requirements, take the test, fill-up forms and undergo medical testing.

First you learn to spell. They won't take kindly to you asking speeders to "sing" their tickets.
Then you go to Google.com and type in "become police officer -insert state or county-".

What do you want to be a police officer for? Are you a power monger? Like sticking your nose in things that's none of your business? Maybe you like taking money from other people? You can't possibly think YOU can make a difference.Want to leave you hunny alone after you get shot and die?
Come on, you really want to do something with your life? Stay away from police officers. They are crude, rude, erragant and just plan selfish.

first you need to learn how to spell. it's sign up not sing up; unless you want to try and impress them with you musical talent.
