when u try to install windows media player 10, it does a system restore. click on start, click on run, type in msconfig, click on launch system restore.

During the download of Media player 11 you were ask if you accept the licences as this was part of the validation, are you able to use the Media player at all ? if you are able then the validation has been done when you installed the software.

Well, when you go to download it, it will have to validate, so the copy you have got is not a valid copy for a start, it wouldn't have let you install without validating.
I'm not bothered if you're using a dogdy copy of windows XP or not (Hell, have the Windows XP users are, lol).
Have you tried the remove function in control panel. If that fails, go with the user that advised you to do a system restore back to before you installed it.

Go to Windows Update and Click on Express for security and then Click on Custom for Optional Updates. This will sort out your problem. Put a checkmark in each of the optional updates available.

While installing it on ur PC make sure that u have active internet connection......jus run set up for once after completing it restart ur PC and enjoy it ...
