It's OK if you still think about this person but it doesn't have to hurt and it won't always hurt like it does now.
You will move on, you just need to give yourself some time as it sounds like you are still grieving.
If it's your first serious relationship then you have probably been experiencing certain emotions for the first time in your life too and you are still learning to cope with those emotions.
You may be in agony, possibly getting desperate, wondering when these feelings will subside.
It's up to you, you will decide when you are finished grieving and when it is time to let go.
It may not seem like it now but it is a good experience because you are growing as a person and when you emerge from the other side you will be stronger, wiser and more mature.
All the best.

You just have to move on Man, and the feelings of hurt will go away eventually, but that is up to you, you have to decide that she wasn't right for you and did you a favour. A loving relationship takes to people, and despite how strongly you feel about someone if they don't feel the same about you, then there is no validity to the relationship in the first place. You know what is so good about beating your head against a brick wall? It feels so good when you stop.

You loved her. The purest emotion this side of hate.
You will never get over her. You will never stop loving her. All you can do is make room in your heart for a girl that won't break your heart, that will love you forever and, that will make you smile and happy to be alive again.
Don't make the mistake of comparing your feelings for that girl with the feelings you have for the girls you will meet from here on out. you will never feel for another girl the way you felt for that first girl. We all have our firsts. \\\
Good luck, it's hard. But, you will love again, and soon, because the most attractive man on earth is one that has been smitten by love. It is girl bait.
You are so lucky to be you. I am 50, I know.

Wow. You really need to let it go and move on. For YOU! What happens if you run into her Christmas shopping? What if she's moved on, and you're pathetic? It's not attractive. Don't let it happen. Life is short. Get one. Find anything that makes you feel good. I just found Karate, Okinawa style, is so awesome. Something you can share...with someone who likes the same things.

well if your first relationship was pretty long it will be hard to get over. when you get deeply attatched with someone who is also your first it can be hard. do you guys still talk? maybe you should tell her how you feel and she might feel the same.
you wont know if you dont ask.
