Like each other? In 1776, choices were made that separated basically the same people. Since then we have shared the longest undefended border in history. We get on each others nerves at times and both have likes and dislikes about each other. However, that being said, we have always been there for each other, War of 1812 notwithstanding. We are each others greatest trading partners but at times have our differences. Most Canadians have American relatives and vice versa. Friends don't always get along and after 9-11 we have taken a lot of blame for some of the terrorists coming into the U.S. from here. There will always be some from both nations that take their views to the extreme, not much any of us can do about that. The U.S. is making it tougher and tougher with border restrictions for some of us to consider them "friends", but to be honest, I'd rather be friends with them than an enemy. We have shared so much between the 2 of us to lose everything over extremists and I hope upon hope that our common values don't get lost in these trying times. We are both independent nations and will always have our differences. Do we like each other? Yes. Do we always respect each other? No. Doesn't mean we will not be there for each other in times of need.

Yea Canadians and Americans generally get along, we have a huge border that we have to share and two major trading partners. I think Canada and the US are basically the same. Plus Canadian troops are in Afghanistan where the Americans are as well. I'm a Canadian, so I like Americans and I'm sure they like us back.

Yes, for the most part, when the US isn't trying to bully us with their unfair trade practises, or we aren't pissing on them just because it is a favourite pass time of Canadians to bash Americans. As a Canadian, with American relatives that go back almost 300 years, I thing it is dumb for us not to get along, and we Canadians are the American's biggest trading partners, so we should remind ourselves which side our bread is buttered on!!!

Two countries in and of themselves are not entities with feelings. They are simply political nations made up of people. Do the people get along and like each other? Some do and some don't. Some don't care. Just like with people in your neighbourhood.

I love Americans, and I'm sure you love us, the problems here lies with the politicians, the last time they were really friendly was when Brian Mulrooney was our Prime Minister and he was by no means our best.
