I've been feeling really depressed lately and I'll I've been wanting is to either, Get high anyway possible, Sleep all day with the help of Nyquil and to be alone. When I want that quick high (or drunk feeling) I'll couple swigs of Nyquil. I know what I'm doing is wrong but, I have no other ways of copeing with my depression. I know there are many other ways but it seems like they don't work. Another thing I do is eat, a really lot. It makes me feel really guilty because I'm fat. Atleast I think so and I really want to lose weight but, the depression isn't really helping much. What should I do?

I'm most likely the wrong person to answer this question,as I am going threw a loss of my own at the moment. I do know that just like you can't stop the darkness from entering your life, and no one can make it go away for you, you also can't stop the laughter from entering either. They say depression takes a long time to grow, that it is an accumulation of many different things in ones life, no one knows when it will hit. This is a good start to perhaps helping yourself, not conventional counselling but it is therapy of a sort and can only help. when you can't sleep go for a walk. Not a long one, start small .

if it recently started it could be seasonal depression..If it continues after the holidays I would see a doc. you are like me when you get depressed you eat and then you hate yourself because you are already fat and now you weigh more which makes you more depressed than you were in the first place..The holidays are a hard time to lose weight..just go one day at a time and try to MAKE yourself stay busy and out of bed.. From someone with 20 years depression trust me when I say "that isn't easy"..it's an every minute challenge...

I'm in a similar situation. Spending your time doing things you enjoy is the best thing you can do. I don't enjoy those things anymore though. Maybe you could talk to a doctor? If these things are left to get worse you could end up feeling suicidal. I have pushed everyone away because of my problems, I'm getting the help on wednesday though to try make myself a better person. I hope you get yourself out of this because I know it's horrible to be like that.

Take care & best of luck
Emma
