AND, why are they so eager to combine Church and State? That's what it seems to be leading into.

It comes from a love of Christ and what we call the great commission. I don't know about the church and the state. My question to you is why do most people think that Christians come to steal your soul instead of save it?

They want to make the law of the land based on Bible. They want freedom of religion for themselves. I get really tired of this "we are being persecuted" garbage. Christians will tell you they are persecuted because they don't have their prayers spoken in the schools and creation science preached in the classrooms. It becomes completely irrelevant that anyone else's religion should be trampled upon. I think it interesting that some "Christians" are throwing a fit that a new US Congressman want to take his oath of office on the Qur'an. "How disgraceful to our Christian roots" was the comment made by one minister.

Some have the belief that somehow the United States is the "New Israel", and if we don't do all of this, we will no longer have God's blessings.

Fortunately, even some Fundamentalist ministers are condemning the God in politics thing, saying that puts God in this world and that that violates God's word.

Think of it this way. If you believed with all your heart that humans live more or less 100 years and if they make this one decision they will live for all eternity in happiness, wouldn't you want others to make the right decision? Furthermore, if you believed your God was the one and only creater of all the universe, wouldn't you want God's law to be the law of the land?

I am a very devoted Christian. I have helped support my wife as she goes through seminary. I can tell you that I am *not* out trying aggressively to save the souls of other people and I'm not voting for faith based legislation. I do not think that Christianity was designed to rule the world by the hands of Christians. I think we have a personal and social responsibilty as Christians, but that does not mean to force other people to think and act in any way. Christianity is supposed to be a choice. It's a choice for me, and I'm leaving that choice open to anyone else.

I think Christians proselytize for different reasons. Some are co-called "True Believers" who honestly want to pass on what they have been given, and also to follow Jesus' parting words to Peter to spread the word. "Take car of my flock." Some Christians may not be so caring though, and simply spread the word because they think that will guarantee them a pss to Heaven. And some Christians who aren't as strong in their faith are really trying to bolster their own beliefs by pushing it on others. It's like the old saying: "Yeah, just keep telling yourself that it's true and maybe you'll believe it."

I cannot save anyone's soul, only Jesus can do that. I can only tell people that I am convinced that Jesus can do just what He says and that Father God wants them to because He loves mankind so much that He died for them and made heaven for them and wants them to live forever in it and have everything they want while they experience His Love. As for America, I am sad but like my Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world." I was not born for this world but the next and I hope I go soon.

A "Christian" One that has a Personal Relationship with God,That comes the way of the Cross, can not save anyone.

The Forgiven will speak Gods word,He is a Watchman.
the Holy Spirit is the One that speaks to you.You can accept or Reject. If you hear His voice ,It means God has not given you
over to a Reprobate/"One that opposes God/Your arms are not long enough to fight God.

The Bible tells 'em to. If I really believed that everyone who wasn't a Christian was going to be tortured forever, I'd try to save some souls too.

I always say to proselytisers, "Who are you trying to convince? If you really believed in what you say, you'd live it. If you don't believe it you hope that by convincing others you will." it was Jesus who said, "Go, and say nothing."
Wherever there is poor separation between church and state there is corruption. Probably because religion is a corruption of God.

Soul- If a father knew that his son was racing to go jump in a cave that was deemed unsafe, wouldn't he try to stop him? Combination of church and state....I think that alot of us want representation. We accept tolerance as a way of life. We know that things will be removed. We are at peace with that. It does not affect us personally.
