Bi polar disorder can be very dificult for others to understand.
In most cases of bi polar disorder. The person with the affliction arent able to just stop being that way. It is something that isnt in their control. Medication and therapy can help but not a garauntee that they will become "normal".

Pretty much it's like this...if you don't have it, you will never completely understand it no matter how hard you try. These things you are talking about are the symptoms of bi-polar for most people that have it. I can't lie, I don't have any shame, but, I will take responsibility for what I do, because the way I see it, being bi-polar doesn't excuse my behavior and it isn't a crutch that I should use to get out of things. I've lost many many jobs since I started being treated 7 years ago. At one point in time, I had lost 10 in a two month period, but still, I wasn't ashamed. Being bi-polar is what makes me who I am and it's where my personailty comes from. I can deal with it, and those that are closest to me can deal with, even though they don't know a whole lot about it, and of course it doesn't make sense to them that little noises or a peice of fuzz can set me off, but the handle it well now. People with bi-polar can have good relationships, they just take work, support, and tolerance. I am getting married next fall to my boyfriend of almost 5 years, and we are doing great. Again, it takes work. Sometimes it is harder for some than others, because bi-polar differs from person to person.

People with these disorder tend to have two phases. One is Manic state and the other is depressed state. During Manic state the person is very confident, hyper, dominant, might have a really big ego and so on. This is probably the state that you described here. The other state is the depressed one where they are basically depressed, avoid company, have no drive, and might be suicidal. Some of them have hallucinations.

I'm not a doctor, but I have two friends who have this disease.
Bipolars are sometimes really good artistically. A famous bi-polar is Sting.
