The bible says thou sal not kill. It says in the bible that murder is wrong and againts guide. This means all the soldiers in the war that have killed someone in war, are going to hell. Surly they killed before. Killing would break the 10 commandments. According to the bible it says shal not kill, so that means under any circuim stance.

I don't profess to know much about the bible - or any religion come to that. I just look at the world and think what terrible crimes are committed on a daily basis, and religion and/or a difference of belief can be responsible for so much death and destruction.

"This means all the soldiers in the war that have killed someone in war, are going to hell. "

No. King David for instance, fought in war under Gods direction. Moses as well.

And remember the old story about David and Goliath? David did not only kill Goliath, but he cut off his head. All that occurred after the Ten Commandments. David knew God's word, so why did he do it?

I am suggesting that you are coming to the wrong conclusion, that is; if you have any intellectual value in yur arguement. I would suggest that you reapply your thinking in a new direction when it comes to the Bible and it's meanings.

Badly stated, but that is what the 10 Commandments say. People read the commandments, then they go right off into battle and violate them by killing enemy in war, and by declaring war in the first place.

Actually the Bible is contradictory on killing. Another verse in the Bible says essentially "Thou shalt kill". So perhaps the Bible is not a reliable guide for living or for much of anything. At least don't swear that you will follow some of the teachings of the Bible and then march right on and violate them.

I believe you need to look into some commentaries. I believe in the original language it means to murder. But, having said that, the man that brought that law down from the mountain was himself a murderer, Yet God forgave him.

You can also look at the Bible and how the Israelites were commanded to set up cities of refuge for those that accidentally killed some one so the avenger of blood would not come and kill them.

I hope this does not sound like I am waffling on you. You should not willing go out and seek anothers life, but there are times when killing some one is necessary.

Is it not true that Jehovah allowed ancient Israel to engage in warfare?

Jehovah directed ancient Israel to use warfare to take possession of the land that he himself designated as their inheritance and to execute people whose depraved practices and defiance of the true God caused Jehovah to view them as being no longer fit to live. Nevertheless, mercy was shown to Rahab and to the Gibeonites because they demonstrated faith in Jehovah. In the Law covenant God laid down rules for warfare that he would approve, stipulating exemptions and the manner in which this warfare was to be carried out. Such were truly holy wars of Jehovah. That is not true of the carnal warfare of any nation today.

“The earliest Christians did not serve in the armed forces,” states an article in The Christian Century magazine. It explains that until the decade of 170-180 C.E., there is no evidence whatever that Christians served in the army. The article then adds: “Only gradually did Christians abandon their opposition to military service.”

What have been the consequences? “Perhaps nothing has done more to discredit Christianity than its practice of taking a stand virtually indistinguishable from that of non-Christians on the practice of war,” notes The Christian Century article. “That Christians on the one hand espouse the faith of the gentle Savior while on the other they warmly support religious or nationalistic wars has gone far toward damaging the faith.”

With the establishing of the Christian congregation, a new situation came into existence. Christians are not under the Mosaic Law. Christ’s followers were to make disciples of people of all nations; so worshipers of the true God would in time be found in all those nations. However, what is the motive of those nations when they go to war? Is it to carry out the will of the Creator of all the earth or is it to further some nationalistic interest? If true Christians in one nation were to go to war against another nation, they would be fighting against fellow believers, against people who prayed for help to the same God that they did. Appropriately, Christ directed his followers to lay down the sword.

You are Totally wrong about Soldiers going to Hell..............Shame on you for making them think that!!

They are protecting us in the USA and they are also protecting their own life.

There is a big difference in war and what you are talking about.

When you read the Bible, you can't just use a few verses and make it mean what you think.

The radical terrorist Muslims have slaughtered MANY in Africa -------do you want them to come over and do that to us?

Yes killing is a sin and yes the soldiers are sinning but in the eyes of god all sins are equal the price of all sin is death. Fourtunatly Jesus shed his holy blood on the cross so that we may be forgiven. The only unforgivable sin is blasphamy of the holy ghost therefore the soldiers can be forgiven for their sin.

"Murder" and "war" are different.

Read more of the Bible, you'll see G-d allows for much killing because of war. Just not murder, which is killing one person for your own reasons. Read the book of Joshua!

Blessings
David
