You must understand that the Buddha did not teach from theories. He taught from a pratical stand point based on his understanding, his enlightenment, and his realisation of the Truth. He constantly urged his followers to see 'things-as-they-really-are'.
The basic things that you should know:
1.The four noble truths
2.The eight fold noble part
3.The law of dependent origination
4.The three characteristics of existence(anicca,dukkha,anatta)

I believe in religious freedom, but. . . I'd love some background here as to why you'd like to adopt a new religion when, based on the last line of your question, your old one seems to be suiting you, at least to some degree.

For that matter, why would you want to become a Buddhist when you have no background on it? It makes it seem as though your only interest Buddhism is because it's somewhat in vogue.

Just look at the behavior of David, that is enough information right there.

And no, Buddhists do not worship Buddha. They view him as a model of how to live their lives themselves so they too can reach enlightenment.

The basic thing that you should know about Buddhism is that you will be cast in hell for being one. Sure being a Buddhist will get you out of Christianity.

Buddah is ugly, because it is a "human make" God ... Allah is not ugly. Ask a boy about it and he will assure you that Buddha looks ugly. It is not a god, it nothing but a piece of stone shaped by a human hand.

The only religion that you get out of life safe with it is "Islam".

Only the fools who think that strew can save their souls in a rumbling stormy sea...God is the one but we can't see.

God is not Jesus the Prophet, God is Allah, the one and the only, have no son and no wife and no one was before him, and no one will stay after him. Allah is beyond our sight and knowledge of material we can only feel him inside us, when we are in deep trouble.

Who have a mind to understand, when all the minds are blocked?

Please ignore the ignorant Christian.

Buddhism has little to say directly on the matter of whether a god exists. However, some argue that the Christian god is fundamentally incompatible with Buddhist teachings.

I'll answer your question with a question. Why would you want to become a buddhist if you don't even know the basic things about that religion? Makes no sense to me.

The word of God declares that "you can't serve two masters, for you will love the one and hate the other"..."I am GOD alone, and beside me there is no other".. "what fellowship does light have with darkness".. "Darkness can't comprehend the light"...

What's your concept of family?? Budda, for the sake of a "higher calling" abandoned his family (wife, and child) for something greater. So, what will stop him from abandoning you? Jesus said: "I will never leave you nor forsake you"...

So chose you this day whom you will serve! Will you serve the Eternal God or man and the philosophy (man's thoughts) behind him??

you can't accept God and he not change you. So if you accept the Gift of life through salvation, you will be changed forsaking all others (gods).....

Why would you want to become a buddhist if you know nothing about it? Surely you need to look into their religion and faith before you even contemplate joining?
