One of my favorites is "How do you even account for this conversation?"

Let me expand a bit. In a random and purposeless universe, how could it be that we are carrying on a comprehensible conversation about God? How is it that language carries meaning? Atheistic philosophy has fetched up against a dead end with language -- there's just no reason to suppose that the organized gruntings of former monkeys can carry meaning from one mind to another, and less reason still to suppose that reality should be susceptible to description by those gruntings. If language can't carry meaning, then we are all ultimately alone in the cosmos, because I'll never be able to tell, from your use of language, what's going on in your head, and vice versa. So communication is impossible, rendering our conversation pointless and meaningless -- and yet we are communicating.

On the Christian understanding, however, language is not a human invention but a gift from God. Language really does meet reality and carry meaning about it, because God *spoke* the cosmos into existence, and so language undergirds the entirety of the creation. Not only that, but God described reality with language, and gave that same ability to humanity as His image-bearers. Therefore, communication is possible: words can convey real meaning from my mind to yours. Not perfectly, mind you -- it's a fallen world -- but it's still possible, and it works pretty well more often than not.

So to return to the question: I can account for the conversation we're having right now. Can you?
