If someone e-mails you and says that you've won the Australian lottery and they need your bank account number to send you your money.. do you believe them?? of course not.
So why is it that someone can pick up a book and just because inside that book it says a man lived inside a whale, or built a gigantic boat to house the entire animal kingdom, people believe without question?
I believe there is a higher power and that it wants us to LOVE each other- and that means EVERYONE- including homosexuals and people of other faiths.
Why believe in a book that does nothing but poison people with hate? How do we KNOW it was written by who it was supposed to be written by and how do we KNOW it was "His" word? Why not just live like good people and not judge or Bible thump our way through life? When greeted at whatever comes next and asked "What did you do with your life?" I, personally, would much rather be able to say "I gave everyone a chance" than "I hated all the right people."

If the spam email was delivered by your parents, when you were 2 years old, was almost universally re-enforced by society, and drilled into your head EVERY WEEKEND, you would probably believe it until your teenage years at least.

That was my experience with religion.

I agree that people should accept all people. BUT you really aren't giving Christians a chance, sounds like judgement on YOUR part. The answer to your question is FAITH. I am not a part of any orgainized religion but I have studied many religions. All of the major religions have a basic theme/doctrine which is live morally. The reason however, that for instance people believe that a multi-armed, elephant-headed god (Ganesha) gives one a successful life is faith. Everyone has their own, who are we, as believers of our own way to judge? To a faithful Christian, the Bible was sent from God and Noah was told to build an ark and Adam and Eve were the first two humans. Its not that much of a stretch.

Guess what if you look on the internet for Noah's ark you will find it: http://www.biblediscoveries.com/ark visit. html You have to have faith when you read the holy scriptures. And believe in God, and pray. Don't forget we are ALL GODS CHILDREN, WE ARE PAID WITH A PRICE. And that means you too. We are his. you are walking in darkness at noon day.Faith means believing. Even though you can't see it. Believing something that you cannot see.Even the homosexuals are his children too. We all are.If believe that you gave everyone a chance. But you did not take a chance on God,which is most important thing of all. REMEMBER

Right on, Jennifer. But so far you are preaching to the choir.
If you really want to get their goats, ask this.

Jesus said that governments are inherently evil. What else can organized Religion be called since it governs, right down to telling us what to believe, who to believe, what to do & when, & where to send your money. God gave us brains to use, yet these people would tell us how to use them because it was "eating fruit from the tree of knowledge" which taught us the meaning of sin, which was a sin because God said it was. Wait a second. God gave us the ability to reason & said don't do it? There are no mistakes in God's world, yet they say God must have made a mistake.;

I'm with you.

2nd input. It is amazing that of those who disagreed, only one left a way to answer directly. (though he did not address the question) Where is the courage of those convictions?

Good question, Jenny. Bad answer, Judah's voice. How can you believe something that you so obviously made up yourself? It's bad enough that people can pick up a book and blindly follow it, but to knowingly, willingly create random nothingness - that's "based" on this book, no less - and honestly believe it? How is that possible? Normal people can't just believe things that they wittingly made up. How can you?

*A Muslim believes in ONE GOD, Supreme and Eternal, Infinite and Mighty, Merciful and Compassionate, Creator and Provider. God has neither father nor mother, neither sons nor was He fathered. None equal to Him. He is God of all mankind, not of a special tribe or race.
God is High and Supreme but He is very near to the pious thoughtful believers; He answers their prayers and helps them. He loves the people who love Him and forgives their sins. He gives them peace, happiness, knowledge and success. God is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous, and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. God's attributes are mentioned in the Quran.

God creates in man the mind to understand, the soul and conscience to be good and righteous, the feelings and sentiments to be kind and humane. If we try to count His favours upon us, we cannot, because they are countless. In return for all the great favours and mercy, God does not need anything from us, because He is Needless and Independent. God asks us to know Him, to love Him and to enforce His law for our benefit and our own good.

The fact that people believe certain books are God's word is indeed a testament to the power of child indoctrination. If you raise your kid to believe in a certain religion, it is very likely that they will continue in that religion for the rest of their lives. I don't think religion will ever go away until this is dealt with.

The Bible doen't poison people with hate..people poison people with hate.
True Christianity..I did say TRUE...is not based upon hate..it is based upon love..Jesus said that others will know that you belong to me by the love you have one for another..In that same book, it says God is love.
It is more that just believing in the Bible..it is a day to day experience and walk with God...but to know this, one would have to experience it for themself.

There is much history and documentation of the books. Talmud, Torah, Letters and accounts put together in a book, because they had a common theme, though written by people who were not together.

might actually think about reading a book before you judge it..
and this stuff in the bible actually happend!!!!!!! so pick what life
you want to live....number 1 love Jesus and have him as your Lord and Savior...or not love Jesus and suffer...well I think living
