I thing you need to provide some additional information. Use a progressive lens with what application?

I just picked up my first set of progressive lenses from Pearle Vision Coquitlam. Unbelievably horrible. These Progressives have no peripheral vision whatsoever. I can equate the experience and their product to a car purchase analogy - they are selling you a car with no doors, no windows, and no tires - just look out the front window only, and you will get used to it. Thats what this industry wants you to accept. There are varying degrees of vision though the sweet spot in the lens, but there is peripheral distortion through the outside edges of the lenses. As far as I can tell, it amounts to about 60%. In order to get over the distortion, they want you to test drive the lens, in increments, so that you get used to turning your head, and so that your mind gets used to loosing your peripheral vision. Incredible.

If you men Vari-focal, they are not easy at first, it is like looking through a tunnel. Just stick with it, you will get used to it eventually.
Though I have to say, I still tend to look over them, or take them off to look at things closely
