I have a real nice ginger bread house and I would love to keep it forever to use as a Christmas decoration. I know there is like some kind of spray or something to put on it so it can keep. Does anyone know what exactly it is called, and or what I need to do?

This is ONLY if you have no intention of ever eating it or any part of it after it is done. I made one a couple of years ago and we decided that we didn't want it eat it either. So we decided to spray it with polyurethane. You can get this where they sell spray paint. You just spray it on all over it. Let it dry and then spray ago. It will be like a hard plastic coating on it when it is all dry. The house is very easy to clean as well from year to year. Oh, this also comes in a can that you can brush on as well, but for something like the gingerbread house, I would use the spray. Hope this helps all of you out.

I was thinking the same thing about my ginger bread house. It's so pretty, but I don't want to eat it and I don't know how to preserve it. This answer might not be much of a help, but I tried Confectioner's Glaze with other things, and it worked for a while. I suppose until you find something permanent, you could brush on Confectioner's Glaze.

As with maximum baked products, a week or 2 is extreme-high quality, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, undergo in concepts additionally the ambience: Is there greater than a number of heat temperature? Humidity? airborne dirt and dust? puppy fur? Rugrats with who-is familiar with of-the place-they have-been hands? Do because of the fact the sensible adult males of Bethlehem did while they presented their products: deliver 2 of the full element! meaning, if one gets lost or breaks . . . ok . . . risky humorous tale! heavily, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, make 2: One in boost for show (throw out at an identical time as you unload the different decorations). Make the alternative for munching an afternoon or 2 in boost; once you haven't any longer have been given room in the 'refrigerator, then wrap it heavily and LOOSELY in plastic wrap, and placed it in a funky, dry place (a closed closet shelf is superb); in simple terms do no longer forget approximately approximately it!!!
