can I still be called a Christian?..I mean like after a hard days work, i might come home, and have a couple of beers when the ball game is on. Then I might light up a dubbie, and just take a couple of hits, and be straight..I still go to church occasionally, pray, and read the bible, but is this wrong? Because I personally think Its in moderation(marriage).

That's between you and your God!

Personally i say no!!!! No where in the Christian Bible does it say you can't smoke or drink. If you were a Muslim that book is a different story.

If pot is illegal where you live, and you are smoking it, then you are breaking the law. In the Bible it says to obey the laws of the land, so technically yes, it is wrong.

With that set aside, you asked if you could still be called a Christian. Yes, people make mistakes, no one is perfect, even though you drink occasionally (which is legal and is ok to do on occasion according to the Bible) and might have a puff or two of some pot, that doesn't make you un-Christian... it makes you human.

I suggest putting some time aside to pray hard about it, that way you can get an answer from God. If you still feel wrong/bad when smoking pot, try doing less of it until you don't have the need to do it anymore.

I'm in the same situation as you, I too like to drink / smoke on occasion and sometimes I feel "Hmm.. does God not like that I'm doing this"? My old pastor used to tell me that, if you even have the thought that God may not like what you are doing... try your hardest not to do it any longer.

I hope this helps :)

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)"Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; that which cometh out of the mouth defileth a man." I couldn't find it but somewhere in the bible it says that if something diminishes your mental capacity then it is wrong because you should have all of your heart and mind focused on God.....................Who knows man........I have been a smoker for ten years, I still hold a job and take care of my family.........I have to side with you and say that moderation is the key, you can't let it be all you do............Sorry so long....You shouldn't even have to ask if you can be called a Christian......You can't earn your way into heaven anyway.....It is a gift from god.....If you have taken God into your heart then you are forgiven for all sins......Past, Present and Future...so why worry....Just believe!!!!!

I was just wondering the same thing. Right now I'm a little lit, but I believe in God and occasionally read the Bible. I'll wait for some more answers.

As long as you have accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you are good to go. It's all or nothing, everyone has their vices however.

okay well that's between you and God. Personally, I think that drugs and drinknig are bad and they **** your body up. I think that God wouldn't want his children hurting themselves in that way, but what I think doesn't matter. It's what you think and believe.... if that helps.
