Hi, while doing sit-ups is a form of cardio, it is also a muscle building activity. It builds muscle behind your fat and makes you look like you have more fat around your belly then you do. You need to consume low fat foods in a controlled portion amount and then other cardio, like swimming or biking, which will build some muscle tone but not around your belly. Here I bike 15-25 miles every other day and have lost 20lbs in a month doing it. So just do tons and tons of cardio and eat right and it will burn off.

Find out how much calories you burn each day. You can do this by seeing that you eat an amount and your weight is stable or slightly moving in any direction. So you estimate how much you burn each day, and you remove a couple of hundred calories (like 200.) So this will be the amount of calories you're going to consume each day.
Now, you have to start a workout plan, a program where you are doing partly cardio, and partly muscle building. Do not worry, if you create muscle, you can never get huge, unless you are taking steroids. The need for cardio is that you burn the most amount of Fat with cardio. If you do only weight lifting, you'll burn the carbs that you consumed that day.You need the muscle building exercises so you build some more muscle. This is needed because the greatest fat burner is ....MUSCLES. The reason women lose weight harder than men is because they have less muscles.
After you have the program stay on it. It's healthy, and fairly permanent if you loose 2-3 ponds/week. More than that is unhealthy, and when you stop, you'll gain most of it back. So monitor your weigh loss.
Good luck.

Hi, I understand your problem. All you need is to reduce your food intake (esp. carbo) and work it out! Doing sit ups 3 times a week is not enough. Try to work it out in the gym for at least 2 hours for 4 times a week.
If you are really busy with family, you may also try skipping at home and carrying weights to tone. Of course the result will be slower and not as good as the above.
Most importantly, it is still the amount of food that you take in. It is a must to curb the carbo intake and be selective of the fruits and food that you are taking. Some fruits can even make you put on weight!
Don't be discourage if you any lose a little weight. Try harder!

Here is a safe, practical three pronged approach to get rid of belly fat. 1. Healthy Meals Healthy meals consist of lean protein, lots of vegetables, whole grains and some fruit. Your should consistently choose foods that are as close as possible to their natural state. 2. Cardiovascular Exercise. Regular cardiovascular exercise will reduce body fat levels.Wallking is great cardio! Put your shoes on and get moving for at least 30 minutes per day. It doesn't matter how fast or how far you walk in the beginning, the most important point is that you're moving your body aerobically on a regular basis.Participate in whatever aerobic activity you enjoy. 3. Lift Weights. Yes, you did read that correctly! If you're wondering what lifting weights has to do with effectively reducing belly fat, then read on. Regular weight lifting has several beneficial effects for those folks trying to reduce their body fat levels. Muscles burn extra calories. The more muscle you carry on your frame, the more calories you burn in a 24 hour period which translates into extra fat burning power. Muscles take up about one third less space than fat. Muscles give you the power to carry on your daily activities more effectively and with energy to spare. Learning how to effectively reduce belly fat isn't a difficult task. The three principle keys to getting rid of your gut rely on diet, cardiovascular exercise and weight lifting on a regular basis. Remember, you didn't sprout belly fat overnight and you can't get rid of belly fat in a day, but you can reduce belly fat if you're willing to put forth a bit of effort.

People who plan their weekly meals are more successful at losing weight than people that don’t. Plan your dishes to feature healthy carbs such as nice potato and wholegrain pasta, greens and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to consume out or order in.
