I was going to write the same exact thing as Miguel. His post is right on the dot.

To sum it up: Cables make a very, very, small difference in the way a system sounds. You're going to need the best components (CD Player, Pre-Amp, Receiver, Etc.) and also great speakers before you will be able to hear the difference between a decent cable and a really good cable. Sometimes, you might even prefer the sound of less expensive cable.

Whatever you choose though, I would NOT support Monster. They spend more on marketing than they do on research. You're just paying for a overpriced cable. Tests have been conducted and they haven't performed better than much less expensive cables.

When you say stereo cables I assume you mean L/R RCA cables. If so then Monster Cables are fine. Yes there are better but none are as easy to find and the differences are mostly noticeable by musicians, aficionados and audio engineers. While it is important to use better quality cable you want to keep it in perspective. There are cables that cost more than many systems. And I do mean 1 cable costing more than an entire system. To keep it in within reason the general rule of thumb is about 10-15% of your system's cost should be in cabling and power(all cables included), about 50% in speakers and about 40% in components. That may vary depending on what's in the system but with that formula you should get the most bang for your buck. Good Luck.

Monster Cables seem to be the clear winner. But, if you have optical out on your DVD player and Optical in on your receiver, then get some optical cable and listen to the difference. This is Dolby Digital or DTS. You might save some money too using optical cable. AKA Fibre optics
