Last Friday my girlfriend got really drunk and pushed me down the stairs. I was ok, just a few bruises. I did take some pictures too. Anyways last night I caught her in bed with another guy and she screamed at me saying it was over. I am pressing charges because she pushed me down the stairs, but really I just want to get back at her for cheating on me. Is this wrong?

Why are you still calling her your girlfriend? You'd be crazy to go out with her. Personally, I think you should drop it and never talk to her again. She isn't worth your trouble. What are they going to do, give her community service or something? And the fact that you caught her cheating might come up in court, and you'd look stupid if that happened. Just let it go and warn anyone you know if they happen to fall for her. Good night!

I can't tell if you gave your girlfriend a second chance between her pushing you down the stairs and sleeping with another guy. Either way, she said it is over so maybe you should not press charges just yet. If she repeats what she's already done, then you can go ahead and press charges.

You might want to think twice... Unfortunately, the law does favour women in some cases. If you decide to press charges against her for pushing you down the stairs, she can always claim that you were trying to get fresh with her against her will while she was drunk. Furthermore, even if you have witnesses who saw the incident, she might claim diminished responsibility due to her drunken state. The case is probably not clear cut enough and depends too much on each individual's testimony.

Well yes and no. It's mainly your timing. It seems that the only reason that you want to press charges is because you caught her cheating and not for the act itself. Because if you were going to do that, you should've called the police on her that night if you were going to do so. But she was drunk and not in her best mentality as well. The best way to get her back is not to indulge in her madness. You would be acting just like her if you try to be vengeful. Don't worry, what goes around comes around so let her trip and fall on her *** because of her own demise, not because you wanted to get even, and believe me it won't stop there. Be the bigger person and just leave her the hell alone.

Yes. If you wanted to press charges because you got hurt, that would be one thing. But it's not a good idea to do it for revenge- 1- thats just plain immature. And to explain my 2nd point, I'm going to do a dialogue.

Lawyer on other side (LOOS): Were you two going through a tough time in the relationship?

You: Kinda.

LOOS: Was she mad at you?

You: I don't think so.

LOOS: Were you mad at her at the time you filed this claim?

You: Yes.

LOOS: Why?

You: She cheated on me (you're under oath you can't lie!!!)

LOOS: Would you have pressed charges if she hadn't?

etc... You get the point- Lawyer finds out you did it for revenge, you get in trouble, she doesn't... JUST A BAD IDEA!

Yes that is wrong for doing that. First of all it is childish now. You should be a man and face life as it comes to you. That will not be the first time in life that you will find a girlfriend in bed with someone else. There must be a reason she did that. Be an adult and talk with her. Ask her why she did that, and you will learn from your mistakes in life.

Yes, this is wrong actually. You have a good reason to be mad at her for cheating on you, but pressing charges for a ridiculous reason isn't the answer.

No....now you have a motive for pushing you down the stairs............However..........anytime you take vengence into your own hands things get ugly.

Bottom line.......I would press charges and would change the way I select girl friends

Don't press charges. Chime a BJ off one off her friends. You'll feel better.
