Would you use a person who likes you to make the one you want jealous?

Last week a guy I'm not interested in asked me out to a concert the next night. I told him I was flattered but not interested. The concert was held where the guy I do like works. Someone told me I should have gone with the guy I don't like and made sure the other guy saw me with him, and that it would make him jealous and it would get him to make his move. I wouldn't do that, its not who I am, but it did make me wonder if it might have worked. Think that it might have? Has anyone out there done something like this?

Clarifying--- I did not and would not ever do this!! The guy that liked me took a chance on asking me out and I wouldn't go out with him just to try to make someone else jealous! I'm trying to catch the eye of the guy I do like in my own way. I've been used and hurt and wouldn't do it to someone else, ever. I didn't think it made any sense which is the only reason I asked. Someone told me it would make the guy I like want me if he saw me with someone else. All I could think was what a dumb idea. Just wanted to know if anyone actually did this!

NEVER!!! i could never bring myself to do that to somebody, even if it successfully attained my goal with no problems (which it probably wouldn't anyway). manipulation is not my style

I would never do it personally. It's a risky proposition. I'll tell you that most guys I know would back off if they thought you were going out with someone else.

It really all depends on how much the guy you were after is interested in you. Personally, I couldn't do that to someone- playing games like that.

That's callous and very selfish to use your friends in any situation. Have a heart and be real. What kind of a person would that make you in the long run? NOT a very good one.
