In my DREAMS ! or maybe a lid for the playpen?

Wow people, stop judging without knowing.
Some kids need to be placed in a safe but limited space (autistic, mental disorder...)! a 6 year old with the mind of a 1 year old may need a bigger playpen!
If the kid has not developmental / mental issues, it's mad to put him in a cage.
But be aware that there are kids (and their parents) that have different needs.
My question: why would you need a playpen for "older" kid?

Okay so I know this might not be a serious question but I have an answer. I have a three year old and 10 year old twin girls. Anyways they were crazy hard to keep after from one end of the house to the other! All I wanted was a cage or something but here is what I found. They had to much energy and no way to get it all our. So I started making them play outside and taking them to the park and so on and amazingly they have chilled out for atleast now. Kids need a release thankfully i found one that works so far!

my parents used to have this metal "cage" of sorts that they used for both myself and my sister when we went camping up north during the first few summers of our childhood. I believe it was a pen probably it's actual use would have been meant for dogs, most likely puppies if this is true. I have pictures. It would get set up around the kiddie pool as well once we were too old for it so we couldn't get in the pool nor could the neighborhood kids weather we were home or not. There was no top for it and when it was used to pen us in it was almost always put in the shade. I am pretty sure they still make things like this, and still most likely for puppies. The link below is similar to the one we used to have, expect ours was much bigger. I know that ours is gone but I can't for the life of me remember where it went and when. I could have used it for my son his first 2 summers. He just turned 2 6 weeks ago and would have climbed out of it probably by even his second summer.

Are you talking about for your toddler outside? I doubt you are talking about anything other than some sort of gated enclosure to keep them safe in the yard. I don't understand why people automatically jump to conclusions and figure you are talking about a potentially abusive situation. You probably could use something like the dog pens or exercise enclosures or whatever they call them. Just make sure that whatever you get you realize that closing them in something doesn't mean that they can't get out, or get into trouble or hurt while they are inside. Make sure you still watch them well.

That's what the gates are for- but then again, depends on how old the children are-the older they get, the more likely they will be able to figure out how to open them. Anyways-about cages, did you hear about the couple here in Ohio who made their children (foster children) sleep in cages? That's terrible. The children are testifying against them now, I feel so bad for them, they were really abused.

It's called a playyard, a bunch of gates that snap together to form a circle. If you live up north in the U.S. you can buy it at Meijer for 60 bucks. Or maybe look online.

no, but i am sure you can make one; however, i am sure you'll soon find out how it would feel to be caged up.

better look into some parenting classes so your older children do not need cages!

good luck! SD
