With a vaccination, it's possible to never get chicken pox. This also means you'll never get shingles, the even-more-painful adult recurrence of the virus. If you are vaccinated, you should keep up to date with boosters, as I believe it loses effectiveness over a period of time. Also, it is true that chicken pox is worse for adults, and so is shingles, so make sure to stay on top of your shots!

Yes, there are people who never get it.
And, yes, it seems to me that it would be worse for older people. I remember the high fevers my own children had as kids. Older people don't throw things off as easily as children do.
Itches like crazy, too. Leaves scars if you scratch the itch.
Older people who had chicken pox as children are also in danger of getting shingles, too. I've had shingles twice. Not fun.
There is now a vacine for chicken pox. Talk with your doctor.

It depends on whether or not you have had a sub-clinical case or had the vaccine. Most younger people born after 1985 or somewhere around that date got the vaccine and therefore do not get the disease or get an mild case of it that they might miss. If not vaccinated then there is a potential to get it as an adult. However we do not see very many cases any more at all in this country and you must get it from someone who has it. So there may have been little chance for you to get it even as an adult.

Alot of people don't ever get chicken pox. There isn't any rule that says everyone must get it. It is worse when you're older.

As you grow older, you may develop immunity to chicken pox by getting a subclinical infection. Then, you will not get it.Complications can occur at any age, and adults may get mild infection. Chicken pox is most dangerous for newborn babies and foetuses.

Not everyone gets it. It does get worse as you get older, but there are shots that will keep you from getting it and as long as you dont come in contact with someone who has it you wont get it.
I have never had them, and I hope I never do now. I wish I had just gotten them as a kid and got it over with.
