I can say He was there forever if I want to because it's true. If I or anyone else knew the answer, do you think we would be wasting our time on Yahoo!? God created us and everything. It's that simple.

"In the beginning God" -Gen1:1. I didn't say it, the Bible says it. God is not a created being, He is from everlasting to everlasting. God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He was always there and always will be there. That's what He meant when giving His name to Moses in Exodus 3. " I AM that I AM. Tell the people of Israel I Am has sent you." It is impossible for finite humans to completely understand a God who is infinite and lives and exists outside of time and space. What we can know about God is found in the Bible.
To ask humans to completely comprehend God is like asking an ant to completely understand and comprehend humans
