Depends.

Does he follow the teachings of Jesus? No.

Does he do what many conservative Christians in this day and age do, which is be a judgmental, hypocritical, close minded bigot? Yes.

No, of course not.

But the funny thing is how so many people who dislike W. use his stated faith as a reason to dislike him. The argument is that he's a fundamentalist who appeals to the explicit direction of the Almighty in deciding how to guide the nation. I think this argument is full of holes. W. is not a fundamentalist; his language is not the language of fundamentalism.

What has happened is that his handlers have decided that the thing to do to appeal to US voters of a certain type is to fill his public speech with vague but sincere talk of God and morals and personal conversion. Maybe there's some personal experience sometime in W.'s history to account for this language; I don't know. This language terrifies the secular liberal types who conclude he's the American equivalent of a Taliban leader. But almost the whole spectrum of voters from 'moderate' (i.e., moderately conservative) mainline Christians to the hardcore right wing fundamentalist crazies like this language well enough to vote for him.

But the man is obviously a first-class charlatan who cannot open his mouth without committing an act of blasphemy -- against God, against humanity, against reason, against truth. I suspect that he is like many other people who have chosen a path that's a mixture of evil and self-delusion: sometimes he lies knowingly (but thinks it's 'justified') and sometimes he no longer knows the difference between truth and lies.

But the deeper problem is that he has chosen the path of evil.

No.

Its tempting to think that he is simply a deluded Christian, living under the law of prosperity instead of the gospel of mercy, service, and caring for the poor, however, several people have well-documented Bush's lying "tells" including eye movements and lip quivers.

He knows that he is lying, he knows that he is abusing the Bible and his proclaimed faith in hopes of manipulating millions and he simply doesn't care.

He is not good, and last I read in my Bible, leaders and teachers will be judged more harshly (not by us, but by God). He has kept very poor standards. He has abused the poor, legistlated many forms of institutional racism, and lied repeatedly to the American public.

I think that he is a lying hypocrite who has taken advantage of poor, desperate losers in the United States. I think that he says the things he says and does the things he does for their attention. I do not think that he in any way, shape, or form truly believes in God - and if he does he has one hell of a way of showing that he is a good ' Christian' man. If 'Christians' are supposed to be like this, I'd be an atheist any day. Amen.

To me the center of Jesus' teachings are the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5 - 7) and there is no way following Jesus leads to committing torture or waging wanton warfare. So to answer your question, NO he is not a good Christian!

No, he can't be. Jesus said he followers would be no part of this world. How can a person who influences the world so much be a follower of Christ?
He is more a false prophet who is misleading many of the blind Americans who still support him and his shenanigans.
