"Something is better forgotten" maybe it refers to your past experience in life that you must forget for it's just an extra baggage for you to carry as you travel along life's journey. Something...or some experience that may hinder you to move onward in your life.

I believe the quote is "some things are better left forgotten". It means that sometime it is better to forget the past rather than have it brought up again. This usually refers to a particulary troubling time in someones past, like a family members death.

I think the phrase is "Some things are best forgotten." It means that instead of dwelling on the past, or bringing up the past to someone which then starts an argument and bad feelings, it is best to let it go.

Yes, put it out of your mind, hence 'better forgotten'. Maybe write about an experience you don't want to relive.

It means "pretend it never happened." Not a theory I subscribe to, because it implies you can't learn from a mistake or bad experience.
