a lot of gentlemen play golf, but not all golfers are gentlemen.. In fact, there are some real jerks out there.. but most golfers are really serious about the rules of the game and playing it well.. I play with several friends on a regular basis each week... it is a very competitive sport.. there ain't nothing gentle about it.... and as nice as my friends are... on the course they are good guys.. .. fair and honest? yes..courteous, yes.. supportive, yes..fun, yes.. gentlemen?..NO

Golf is a gentlemans game played by gentlemen. They may not always act like that but during a friendly round the banter back and forth brings a few chuckles to all.
I have played with many many different people and have yet to play with someone who did not act courteous , some may have lacked the ettequette needed in golf but I feel that is because they just didnt know it.

It depends on the company. Are they your friends or strangers that you joined in a flight? Generally, golfers are supportive of each other and encourage each other to perform better. If there is a betting on, the true gentleman may likely disappear.

Well you can't really say that golfers are all gentlemen. Just like you can't say that all football players, or all wrestlers are gentlemen. Answer plain and simple is that some people (golfers, wrestlers, football players, etc.) are and some aren't. You just need to try to be a gentlemen yourself, and hope that it rubs off on those who are not. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays.
