Yes, the Avian Veterinarian that I take my birds to said to never use Febreze or any other aerosol sprays near my birds. He also said no scented candles, air fresheners, incense or any other scented type things or cleaning sprays anywhere near my birds. Also, don't burn a Teflon coated pan while cooking in your house the fumes are extremely toxic to birds. Smoking around them is harmful as well.

Yes it most defiantly is true. Birds have very sensitive lungs. Smoke, non stick cook wear fumes, incense and air fresheners are just a few of the things a house hold with bids in it should avoid.

It may not kill them straight away but it will shorten their life span by a lot! It will cause breathing a lung problems.

Please do not spray it around your birds!

PLEASE do not spray Febreeze around your birds! The fumes from this product are DEADLY! I handfeed baby parrots for a professional breeder and have worked in a bird-specific pet store for over 5 years and I know what I'm talking about! You can get an Airwick dispenser that automatically shoots out a spray every few minutes. This is not deadly....but Febreeze is DEADLY.

Yes it is true. it hurts there digesting and makes it hard for them to digest, i have an African gray i read that underarm deodorant, hair spray, freebie's, second hand smoke and a bunch of other chemicals will hurt ot evan kill them so don't chance it unless u move the bird outside to clean house and wait till the smell is gone i do this.

Yes, don't spray anything around your birds. They are sensitive to the chemicals. It can either kill them or make them very sick. It can also cause long term damage to their lungs or liver. You have to be careful with birds.

There is a chemical, and the name of it has escaped me, but the chemical that kills the toxins that are making your air "stink" are harmful for birds and will kill them! I can't say I don't use febreeze, I use it, but not anywhere near my birds. I think its harmful when used in excess and near the birds.
