Just wanted to thank all the parents out there for putting a roof over your child’s head, feeding them, protecting them, loving them...I am 20 and feel like when I was younger i took for granted how hard my parents had to work for me they are middle class my dad is a welder and my mom works in an office alone, and I love them very much for being great parents. So if you child seems to not appreciate you now they will some time realize how hard you have worked, so thank you!

Thank you for speaking up for grown children to parents. I am mother to 4 of my own and 5 of my husband's. My oldest is 23 and I've yet to hear him acknowledge the things that were done for him. Mind you, as a parent, I don't expect to be thanked for what I did, because it was done out of love, but it is nice to know that somewhere, someday, someone, has noticed the love and care parents give to their children. On behalf of all unthanked parents, I thank you for being mature enough to have seen the benefits of your parents love, care, and work. Have a happy holiday season. Cheers! Spirit

You sound like you have thought about this and your parents did actually know something as you were going through your teen years. I do not know why, but it happens to everyone in there teen years. There comes a time when kids think they know it all and the parents don't know anything. Sometimes later when the kids are older they call and let you know that they appreciate you. I think more kids should listen to their parents and not let those years go by in anger. I more kids listen to their parents growing up I bet there would be less people out there saying "in only I knew then what I know now". Thanks for the kind words to parents. Kids never come with instruction manuals.

Thanks. You are very mature for 20. My daughter is 20 and STILL takes everything for granted. Tell everything you just said to your parents. I'm sure it will make their day.
