No. Champagne is naturally carbonated, which means that it contains gas under pressure. Liquid expands as it freezes, which puts the glass under pressure. It also puts the gas under more pressure. It's all a recipe to making the bottle potentially explode.

The scary part is - it won't explode in the freezer. The alcohol stops it from freezing. It just build pressure until something changes. Opening the bottle will cause it to freeze. If you're lucky, you end up wearing a champagne slushy. If not, crack crack boom.

Only if you feel like cleaning up shattered glass and frozen champagne! Very MESSY I do not suggest it.

Better suggestion-find a round bowl or pot (or a champagne/wine cooler) that you can fill with ice and let the champagne chill for a few hours.

Just did it last night, the cork popped off in the freezer. I'm assuming the cold made the cork shrink a little until there wasn't enough static friction to hold it in place, and the pressure of the bottle shot it off. Heck of a cleanup after.

The cardbored might get softer however it is not going to get smooth adequate to wreck open or whatever while you bring it. Your main issue is, the capee suns if left within the freezer over night time might both explode, or rip by way of their packaging. Try the refrigerator rather.

AS long as you remember to get it out you can chill it in the freezer. If you forget it, it will expand and blow the cork. The best way to chill wine quickly is to put it in the sink with very cold water and lots of ice.

No, unless you are not going to freeze it and you just need to make it cold, but you should pay attention so it doesn't explode. Or, here's a novel idea, you can put it on ice!
