I personally like it that way, but I think that the sport would make more money if the season was shorter. As it is now every race isn't that important, even in the chase, so people figure they don't really have to watch, because if something happens to their driver it'll probably be no big deal. However, it's only once a week unlike football which is on several nights a week. I think that if they shorten it, there should be less races in the Chase. Jimmie shouldn't have been able to come back like that from so far behind and then win so easily. Nothing against Jimmie, it just doesn't seem right that each race has so little emphasis.

Prior to the modern era NASCAR raced 2 or 3 days a week which could add up to 80 or 90 races a year. They would run 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile on a Wednesday and a Friday then run Sunday so today's 36 race schedule is shortened.
The geographic range needs some work but it defiantly not too long.
The Busch series was to run the short tracks that CUP was leaving to make up the difference but that got lost for the love of money.

NO WAY!!!!! If you loose interest 1/2 way through the season like Doug, then your probably not a true fan. True fans don't get bored with Nascar. These drivers are making very good money and they know what they are getting into each season. November to February is plenty of time off. Just like when you're in school you get a summer vacation well this is there vacation. They should be thankful they get a break at all because most people that have jobs don't get 2-3 months off every year.

Absolutely! I lose interest by 1/2 way through the season. I like it starting in February, cause I'm craving sports that time of year, but November is too long to go. They should end up right around Labor Day. Once football season starts, NASCAR takes a back seat, even with "The Chase".

Not at all. They usually only race one race a week and have weeks where they don't even race. But also the fact that it is spreading out over the US makes the long season worth it for those of us on the west coast, means we get more races!

For the fans like us, no.
For the members of the teams and their families who get little off and time together during the season, it's probably too long.
By comparison, most of our elected legislators only work 6 months out of the year and not 5-7 days a week even then! :)

If you don't like it then change the channel. If you think about it (which I have) Nascar's season is about as long as the MLB season or the NBA season. Any who, I can't wait to get back to Daytona.

No Way!!! I'm missing it all ready, if your a true fan, you would want to watch year round. I understand they need the time off though, the drivers and all the crew members etc. really work hard during the season, they deserve a break.
